Message from Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, MSpS
| | | We are like a barren desert that craves water. God is our living oasis. He fills our souls with hope and eternal life. Without God’s living water, our hearts remain empty and fruitless. This image stirs a deep longing in us — a need for true nourishment that only God can give. The resurrection of Jesus is not just a past event. It is our source of life and hope. Even in the shadow of death, God’s promise conquers despair. Like a tree that grows strong when watered, we are renewed and empowered by the resurrection. Death is not our final word. The Lord Jesus shows us that the Kingdom of God is not found in wealth or power, but in a humble heart. When we are at our lowest, God’s love and justice shine the brightest. Imagine a desert transformed by a hidden oasis. When we stop seeking fulfillment in worldly things and open our hearts to God, we become that oasis — a sanctuary of hope and renewal amid life’s trials. Those who choose humility, service, and brotherhood are truly free. Let us choose to trust in God alone. May we, like a strong tree nourished by an oasis, stand firm in faith, grow in grace, and share the refreshing waters of hope with a thirsty world.

Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope | Visit St. Rose of Lima Church
| |
St. Rose of Lima is one of the 23 designated pilgrimage sites in the archdiocese to which the faithful are invited to visit between now and January 6, 2026. St. Rose of Lima Church began as a parish on Sept. 29, 1981, by the decree of Archbishop Patrick F. Flores. The parish was taken from the western sections of St. Vincent de Paul Church. The parish originally started with only 350 families but has grown to well over four thousand families. On Dec. 4, 2005, Archbishop Jose H. Gomez dedicated the present-day church, which is one of the largest in the archdiocese, providing a sacred place for many archdiocesan liturgical celebrations. On Aug. 23, 2024, on the Feast of Saint Rose of Lima, the parish inaugurated its Perpetual Adoration Chapel. During the Jubilee Year of Hope, pilgrims will have the opportunity visit the relic of Saint Rose of Lima and spend time in Adoration.
