| | | Imagine a house with many rooms. A carpenter who worked on its construction knows it well — he measured the wood, felt the grain, drove the nails with practiced hands; as slowly, quietly, the dwelling took shape. Joseph of Nazareth built things. He built with his hands, with his silence, with his obedient fiat to an angel who came in a dream. And in building, he participated in something he could never have fully seen: the architecture of salvation. For Saint Joseph’s work to have meaning, he is first and foremost the husband of Mary — who is the first fruits of the Church — and the adoptive father of the Son of God. The Father wants to make Himself present to His people through you. The house with many rooms is not a future promise only; it is the Eucharist — the place where heaven already begins; where the Way sets the table, where the Truth is broken open, where the Life is given into your hands. Like Joseph, you are learning to build in hiddenness. Trust the grain of the wood. Trust the dream.

Más de un siglo de enseñanza católica nos llama a estar con los inmigrantes
Un webinar en español | A webinar in Spanish
Jueves 14 de mayo a las 7 p.m. por Zoom
| | |

From Fear to Courage: The Spirit Who Changes Hearts: Pentecost Vigil Mass
Saturday, May 23, at 5 p.m., at Church of the Holy Spirit
| | In the upper room, a group of frightened disciples waited behind locked doors. They had seen their Lord crucified and risen, and yet they were still afraid. Then the Holy Spirit came, and everything changed. What was timid became bold. What was hidden became proclaimed. What was broken became witness to the whole world. Pope Francis once said that the Holy Spirit changes hearts, freeing them from fear, moving them to service, and making even the lukewarm thrill to new dreams. That same transformation is offered to each of us. Wherever you find yourself today, whether steady in faith or simply searching for a breath of something new, the Spirit is near. Come and welcome him in person. Join us as we gather as one Church to celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost with Archbishop Gustavo at Church of the Holy Spirit (directions). Bring your family, invite a friend, and come ready to be renewed. This Easter, many of you stepped into the fullness of life with Christ through baptism, confirmation, or your Profession of Faith. Archbishop Gustavo would be honored to gather you around the Eucharistic table once again at the Pentecost Vigil Mass, where the same Holy Spirit who marked you in the sacraments will draw us all closer to the Risen Lord. Bring your godparents, sponsors, family, and friends, so that together we may continue to walk courageous in Christ. | | |
A Communion Wider Then We Can See: Archdiocesan Feast of Corpus Christ Mass and Eucharistic Procession
Saturday, June 6, at 5 p.m., at San Fernando Cathedral
| | When we receive the Eucharist, we are never alone. In that single moment of Holy Communion, we are joined to every Catholic across the world who has gathered at the altar on that same day, and to every saint who has gone before us. Saint Paul reminds us that because there is one bread, we who are many are one body (1 Cor 10:17). Consider what this means for our families, our neighborhoods, our wounded and beautiful city. The divisions that cut through our common life do not have the final word. The Eucharist speaks a stronger word. Christ gathers what the world scatters. He makes one body of many, one family of strangers, one Church of every tongue and tribe and people. Join us for the archdiocesan Feast of Corpus Christi Mass and Eucharistic Procession at San Fernando Cathedral (directions), celebrated by Archbishop Gustavo with the Eucharistic Procession through downtown San Antonio to follow. | | |
