| | | Around the table, we recognize the Lord Jesus among us. We see Him in one another, and especially in the most vulnerable brothers and sisters served by Catholic Charities. For many years, Catholic Charities has been an instrument of grace in the archdiocese — bringing stability to families, hope to children, and dignity to those in need. Through the works of mercy, it allows us to encounter Jesus personally in the poor. Today, new challenges call us forward. Poverty takes new forms. Families face new uncertainties. Yet God always provides the gifts His people needs. When we pray the Our Father, we ask, “Give us this day OUR daily bread.” We pray as one family. What we have is gifts. And every gift carries responsibility. God created the earth for the benefit of all, and the Church’s preferential option for the poor reminds us that serving the marginalized is a measure of our fidelity to our Lord. Catholic Charities helps ensure that the bread God provides truly becomes ours – shared so that all may live with dignity. May the Holy Spirit guide this mission and may Our Lady of Guadalupe keep us close to her Son.

Worship on the River returns next week at San Fernando Cathedral
Tuesday, March 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
| | |
Young adults across the archdiocese are invited to an evening of prayer, mercy, and fellowship on San Fernando Cathedral (directions). Worship on the River, now in its second decade, gathers young adults for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the sacrament of reconciliation from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a light meal and community fellowship from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This year, the gathering moves to the spiritual heart of San Antonio and shifts to a quarterly rhythm, making each evening all the more meaningful. Whether you are a college student discerning your path, a young professional navigating career and relationships, or a young parent seeking renewal, this evening was designed with you in mind. Christ's invitation remains as personal as it has ever been: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NABRE). No registration is required. Bring a friend and come as you are. All are welcome.
