NOVEMBER 21, 2017
2017 has come and gone, and 2018 has begun. We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and we are here with all the latest news and product to celebrate the new year!
Did you get everything that you were hoping to get over the holidays? Well, even if you did, we still have some great new gifts for you in our online store! Check out these new DCC releases from some of our great Third Party Publishers!
The DCC Adventures Magazine and News is probably better known by its acronym title. The important thing is that we have the new Autumn 2017 issue of D.A.M.N. now in stock! The second collected volume contains plenty of material that DCC fans will love, including a level 10 funnel. Yes, a level 10 funnel. It's just the kind of craziness you would expect from DCC, and here's your chance to experience it!
The world isn't what it used to be. You can blame the object that slammed into the moon and caused massive destruction and chaos on Earth a couple of centuries back, but you can just as easily blame the warlords, twisted scientists, and mad sorcerers who currently dominate the landscape. The Umerican Survival Guide Hardcover details all aspects of this new world, collecting and expanding on the material presented in the pages of Crawling Under a Broken Moon. The hardcover includes new classes, new patrons, and much more! And you can get it in one of two different covers: Chase or Delve!
Getting a chance to join up with a major organization is the opportunity that many people look for all their life. Or, in this case, it's an opportunity that could just cost you your life. Outlive, Outsmart, Outkill is the new funnel adventure for the Nowhere City Nights game setting. Players have to battle it out with others in an attempt to get into the Sorcerer Cult in a parody of today's modern reality television.
Escorting a caravan through a deserted area doesn't sound that tough for a group of seasoned adventurers, but then again, this is a very special wasteland. Not everyplace has been witness to a war between the abyss and the surface world, after all. A Faceless Enemy is a new 5th-level DCC adventure set in the Tales From the Fallen Empire campaign setting. The campaign setting is not needed to run the adventure.
Something about the do-it-yourself nature of  Dungeon Crawl Classics has led to a plethora of zines. Whether they are old or new, have put out many issues or few, these zines provide insights into their creator’s visions for that multi-faceted jewel which is  DCC RPG.
We have had an amazing year. For Goodman Games, 2017 will go down as one of the best years on record, and it’s all because of you. We can publish as many items as we like, but unless we see the amazing kind of support that you fans show us, it means nothing.

We thought you might like to see a list of our best selling items, sorted out in a variety of ways, for the 2017 calendar year. If you bought any of the items on the list, thank you. If you haven’t checked them out yet, then here is a good way for you to see what the other fans loved for the past twelve months.
Daniel J. Bishop was lucky enough to take a five-week trip to Scotland and Orkney in 2017, from mid-August to mid-September. This is a place steeped in history, with crumbling castles and ancient stone monuments. It was an amazing trip, and you can read all about it in his Real Life Adventure linked below!
Perhaps the best known of all fantasy authors, J.R.R. Tolkien has epitomized what most people think of as fantasy.

Or has he?

Chris Doyle looks at the life of the author of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and his impact on the world of fantasy literature and the fantasy gaming genre.
Best known for creating the characters of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, Fritz Lieber gets a lot of respect from the gaming community. But he's far more than just those two characters.

Writer Michael Curtis—who is crafting the Lankhmar boxed set for DCC—takes a deeper look at Lieber and the other works that helped to shape fantasy.
Stormbringer. Elric. The Eternal Warrior. Just the mention of Michael Moorcock's creations immediately spring images to the mind. He doesn't just write fiction, he writes monuments that stand on their own.

Exploring his history and works, writer Bob Brinkman shows off the talents and accomplishments of one of the fantasy genre's most iconic writers.

It’s easy to say that 2017 was a busy year for Goodman Games. It would also be a bit of an understatement.

In 2017, Goodman Games attended more cons and events than ever before. All in all, we were at over 20 events, where we met our fans, sold some stuff, and rolled a lot of dice. It’s too much to list in an email, but we put together a recap for you. Make sure you click on over and check it out!
One of the things that we've enjoyed for the past few years is producing our special holiday-themed modules. And we both ended and started the year with a brand new one!

DCC Xcrawl: New Year's Evil brings chaos to the streets of Toronto, as a special event in the downtown arena unleashes a very unexpected guest visitor for the new year. It's madness, mayhem, and much more in the classic Xcrawl style—which means you can expect anything to happen, because it likely will.

This level two adventure is set in the world of Xcrawl and uses the DCC rules system.
You guys did an amazing job in 2017! The number of events run and the number of judges participating was at an all-time high. Heading into 2018 we have a few things we want to let you know.

  • You guys ran nearly 1000 events (!) in 2017, which is amazing. DO NOT STOP! One January 1st everything reset, so from here out you are building towards your 2018 rewards. We'll be announcing the new swag very soon!

  • The theme for the new year is Strange New Worlds. We want you to go where no Judge has gone before. Try to schedule games wherever you can run a demo, such as a church, a school, an arcade, a bar, and yes, gaming stores—anywhere where a game can be played.

  • And speaking of stores, we recently listed a few that were requesting folks come by to run events. If you can help them out, please do!

That's it! We think that 2018 is going to be the best year ever for Goodman Games. There are some amazing things heading your way, and we are happy to have you guys as a member of our Road Crew!
