(New York, NY - October 9, 2023) — The New York State Black Business Alliance (NYSBBA) announces an exclusive in-person Fireside Chat featuring John W. Rogers, Jr., Chairman and Co-CEO of Ariel Investments. This event is scheduled for October 18th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and will be hosted at 124 East 14th Street, NYC 10003.
Mr. Rogers is renowned as the Founder of the first minority-owned asset management firm in the U.S. His journey, fueled by a passion for investing since a young age, has led to a career marked by innovation and leadership. With a Princeton University degree in economics and a background as a stockbroker, John founded Ariel Investments in 1983, focusing on patient, value investing within small- and medium-sized companies. His disciplined approach and investment acumen have earned him accolades, including recognition as Co-Mutual Fund Manager of the Year by Sylvia Porter’s Personal Finance magazine and an All-Star Mutual Fund Manager by USA TODAY.
John's impact extends beyond finance. He serves on the boards of influential organizations such as NIKE, The New York Times Company, and Ryan Specialty Group Holdings. He was also a board member of McDonald’s for over 20 years. Furthermore, John's commitment to national service was honored with Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson Award in 2008.
