We are beyond thrilled as we prepare to welcome 300 folks across New York State to gather in beautiful Lake George to connect, learn, and recharge with each other at our first annual in person conference. The response to this event has been beyond expectation as we received 95 workshop submissions and we reached capacity in only a few weeks of opening registration. For me, this is a resounding YES –people are curious and ready to fully embrace a new way of being that is grounded in compassion and community.
I am grateful to the planning committee who challenged us to take a truly trauma responsive approach to the conference. Rather than having one keynote speaker, we have three featured storytellers who will share the stage with other storytellers to achieve our goal of amplifying diverse voices. We are all on a journey and every story is a source of inspiration. Through these stories, we will learn about the why, the what, and the how of trauma responsive practice.
One of our featured storytellers, Cendie Stanford, CEO and President of ACEs Matter, sets the stage for what to come in this month’s blog, Time is the Common Denominator. Through the metaphor of a symphony, she helps us to understand the impact of ACEs for both individuals as well as systems and what it can look like when we intentionally create healing environments that address the discord and move towards harmony.
I look forward to joining with you in community!
