The New York Times / Siena College NM 2 Congressional District Poll:
  • Freshman Rep. Herrell (R) Trails Vasquez (D) by 1 Point, 48-47%; Women with Vasquez by 12 Points; Men with Herrell by 11 Points
Siena College Research Institute Director Dr. Don Levy said: “This is a barnburner with Herrell, the freshman incumbent Republican, a point behind Vasquez, the Democrat, making his first run for public office, in a district that would have favored Biden over Trump by six points. Herrell has the support of 93% of Republicans, compared to Vasquez’s 88% support from Democrats, however, Herrell also has the support of independents, 55-38%. Vasquez has a far better favorability rating, 41-29%, compared to Herrell’s 39-42%.”
