The News of Zion

Love God

Love People

~Luke 10:27

February 17, 2023

Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became dazzling white. 3Suddenly there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.   Matthew 17:1-3

This Sunday is “Transfiguration Sunday” in the Christian Year Calendar.  It’s the day we not only remember Jesus’ meeting with Moses and Elijah, and Jesus being transfigured, but also the revelation of God’s son, Jesus’ identity, to his most enter circle of disciples and what God called them and us to do. So, how and what does this story teach us about our own stories and journey through life? And what is God calling us to do as God’s own children? Join us this Sunday, as we take a look at these questions, and what they mean for us today!
