The next big step on our journey is almost here: the Groundbreaking ceremony has been set for Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 9:00 am on the Alder Street side of the library building. Nearby parking is available along Alder Street, Spokane Street, and in the public lot off of Alder Street and west of Colville Street. This event is open to the public. Come Visit the Library's Temporary Space

Since June 8, the Walla Walla Public Library has been operating out of a temporary space at 115 W. Main Street. This location at the corner of 3rd Ave. and Main allows library staff to continue serving the community with the same resources and materials in a central location. Library services and programs have continued, with most events happening off-site due to the smaller space. Patrons are encouraged to follow the library’s Facebook page and check the library on-line calendar for program locations. Library hours at the temporary location remain the same: Monday-Friday 10:00 am-7:00 pm, and Saturday 10:00 am-3:00 pm. A 24-hour book drop on the west side of the temporary building, accessible from the parking lot, allows patrons to return materials any time. Come visit the library’s temporary location and see what’s new!
