New Tutoring Platform
January 2019 saw the launch of WriteAway's new tutoring platform - Springshare's LibAnswers. LibAnswers offers WriteAway the ability to make custom changes to the platform, provides a modern and accessible feel for tutors, and offers a more streamlined process for students to submit their assignments and receive feedback.
To increase familiarity with the new software, a series of open houses were offered for tutors and institutional coordinators to allow them to explore and test the platform's functionality . Six online sessions were held in early January and recordings of the sessions are available for tutors to consult, along with a detailed guide on the writeaway.ca website.

Feedback from tutors using the new software has been very positive. How are students responding to the change? The service is more popular than ever: 1021 writing submissions were received in January and February – up 21% from the same time last year!

24/7 Access - Online Anytime!
The new tutoring platform provides at-a-glance data on the time of student submissions. Almost half of January and February assignments were submitted between 5pm and 8am, when on-campus services are normally closed.

From the service's inception, a key goal of WriteAway has been to meet students where they are. By offering anytime submissions, more students are able to take advantage of the quality feedback provided by WriteAway tutors.
