The Next Faithful Step is the overarching theme guiding our diocese's thinking, values, and priorities, and will be developed across the next three years of Convention in stages.
This year's Convention focus is Truth — telling the truth and laying the groundwork for what comes next.
Telling the Truth invites us to name honestly where we are as a diocese: celebrating signs of life, acknowledging real challenges, and listening for God's presence in our shared story. Laying the Groundwork calls us to discern together what is ours to do next, strengthening connections across ministries, aligning mission and resources, and investing in what will outlast us. In continuation, the 190th Annual Convention's theme will be Trust, followed by Transform for the 191st Annual Convention.

More than just a training, Acolyte Festival gives youth and adults the opportunity to experience Christ Church Cathedral firsthand, ask questions, and discover not only how acolytes serve but why their ministry is such an important part of our worship and church life.
This year's format emphasizes interactive activities and get-to-know-you games, creating a fun and engaging experience that helps young people from across the diocese connect with each other and deepen their understanding of worship and faith.

| | On Saturday, June 27, Bishop Duckworth served as co-consecrator and preacher for the Ordination and Consecration of her longtime friend, the Very Rev. Richard T. Lawson III, as the 13th Bishop of Alabama. Her sermon was both personal and riveting, reflecting on their friendship, faith, and the call to serve the people of Alabama. | Bishop Duckworth then traveled to California to serve as co-consecrator for the Ordination and Consecration of the Rev. Dr. Antonio José Gallardo Lucena as the eighth Bishop of Los Angeles on Saturday, July 11. The dynamic service reflected the global diversity of the Episcopal Church through its rich expressions of culture, language and music — a truly memorable celebration! | | Lamby has had a busy summer—visiting Camp Hardtner, planning Family Camp, developing new subscription boxes, and producing new episodes of the Little Podcast of Good News. Kairos Prison Ministry International: It’s mission is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, and their families, to becoming loving and productive citizens of their communities. It is God’s special time for changing hearts, transforming lives and impacting the world.
Kairos Inside is forming team #55 to minister to the women at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel on October 29-November 1, 2026 with an Instructional Reunion on November 6, 2026. Team formation meetings in Baton Rouge are on August 29, September 12 and 26, October 10 and 24, 2026.
Other ways to support Kairos are prayer, encouraging notes/drawings, home-baked cookies, or a financial donation.
East Louisiana Kairos Outside is forming team #25 to minister to female family and friends 20 years and older whose lives have been impacted by the incarceration of a loved one. The weekend will be held at Camp Istrouma in Greenwell Springs on September 25-27, 2026 with a follow-up reunion on October 10, 2026 in Prairieville. Team formation meetings in Pontchatoula are July 18, August 1 and 29, and September 12, 2026.
Other ways to support Kairos Outside is as a “day angel” helping to set up and/or break down for the weekend.

Planting Seeds: Second Sunday for Teens Launches at St. Andrew's! | Second Sunday is a brand-new gathering bringing teens together from across the diocese for a night of games, connection, and worship. | | | | Education for Ministry (EfM) Registration Open | | |
EfM is a small, intimate seminar class in which a group of fellow learners gathers regularly to explore life through three lenses: Scripture, Church History, and personal experience. Over four years, participants read deeply, think carefully, and most importantly, learn together. Using a practice called theological reflection, we connect ancient texts to the actual texture of your life today. No theology degree required. No prior knowledge assumed. Just a willingness to show up and go deeper.
Not ready for a four-year commitment? EfM has recently introduced Wide Angle, a one-year experience designed as a gentle on-ramp into the kind of deepening discipleship and adult learning that enriches your faith, your relationships, and how you move through the world. It can be taken on its own or alongside the traditional EfM program.
Trinity will host two EfM classes this September: Mondays from 9:15-11:45 AM and Wednesdays from 9:15 - 11:45 AM. Space is limited, and these groups become something rare: a community of people who have thought hard things through together.
