April 2018
I hope everyone had an enjoyable spring break. We had a wonderful Music Performance Assessment on campus. We hosted 50 bands and the students did an amazing job hosting and helping our district’s bands. All 3 high school groups achieved an overall superior rating; both middle schools under the direction of Mrs. Compton earned superior ratings as well. We are gearing up for some important dates to close out the semester. I have been telling the kids that it’s a “revolving door”. We close out concert and winter guard and gear up for percussion try-outs/ auxiliary try-outs, spring concerts, and graduation. Please check the calendar for any changes; the “Sounds of Enterprise” concert has been rescheduled for May 1 st at 6:00 pm.

We will have auditions for next year’s ensembles in the next couple weeks. Students will be required to play 12 major scales or as many as they can. We are going to put the most prepared musicians in the appropriate classes. No student is guaranteed a spot in any ensemble. We are trying to put an emphasis on practicing and taking private lessons. This is the only way we will achieve success in the future. We are close to having the show finished. I am excited about next year, but saddened at losing our seniors.

Take care!

Our Winter Guard Team competed in their last competition of the season Saturday, April 07 at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. These girls performed a nearly flawless show and was awarded with a very respectable 3rd place finish in an extremely competitive class with only tenths of a point separating them from the other groups.

Their show "Life After Love" also gained them the Sweepstakes Award. This is awarded to the group who performed the most consistently throughout the season!!

Congratulations Ladies on all of your success!!!!

Class of 2018

What instrument do you play?

I play flute and am currently in Wind Esemble.

What are your plans after high school?

My plans after high school are to attend Troy University where I will major in music with hopes of becoming a band director in the future.

Favorite Big Blue memory?

My favorite Big Blue memory would be our last competition that we competed in. This is my favorite memory because I knew that I performed the best I could.
Band Fees
Thank you to everyone who has gotten their band fees current. Unfortunately, we still have several student accounts with overdue balances which need to be taken care of.

This band program survives primarily through the support of our parents and without that, we would not be able to provide the quality program that we have all grown accustomed to. So, please help us help your children by paying your band fees and getting these accounts up to date.
All That Jazz.......
Our Jazz Band performed incredibly at the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics which were held at Enterprise High School on April 06. They will also be performing at The Music Showcase on May 01 in the Performing Arts Center.

Come out and support this group of extremely talented students!!!!
