A heist film with a twist. The tenth annual NXNW High School Film Festival and student film come together for a spectacular Hollywood-styled evening on January 19th. Northwest Christian is excited to announce that Harkins Norterra has moved the event off the traditional Thursday to a Friday night!
This year's film is "Test Takers", a clever heist film in which a group of honor students scheme to do the unthinkable: steal a copy of the hardest teacher's "un-ace-able" final exam. During Crusaders Got Talent on October 19th, the trailer for "Test Takers" made its debut. To watch the trailer, please click here. Or, to see any of the other NXNW Films, please follow this link.

The Sutton Project demonstrates that the love of Christ is boundless! Almost as soon as The Sutton Project kicked off, we were inundated by the generosity of the Crusader community! As evidenced in the images above and right, before the storage containers even appeared on campus, school offices were packed with Thanksgiving meal items! For well over a decade, The Sutton Project has been an integral part of Northwest Christian's spiritual formation program for students. The Sutton Project is a school-wide missions learning effort in which all Crusaders get involved in providing meals and gifts to precious students within in the Isaac School District.
Located in central Phoenix, according to sources, the Isaac School District is a 100% Title 1 school district that provides free or reduced lunch to all 7,500 of its students. The district is comprised of eleven schools in the Phoenix metro area. The Isaac community experiences high rates of crime, has limited access to health and social services, is located in a food desert, and has an above average poverty level. Residents in the area also face significant language barriers.
There are numerous ways to get involved for alumni, NCS Online, NCS Flex, and NCS on-the ground students and their families! Early Education and Elementary students donate food items, ranging from canned vegetables to cornbread mix to dried potatoes. Middle School and High School students are invited to sacrificially, generously contribute $20 to pay for turkey vouchers. For more information, please watch this video and consider following this link.

Send in the Dads! Northwest Christian's annual "Dad's Day" has morphed into "Dad's Days" with multiple days now allowing for the Early Education campus to be overrun with Dads! As fathers visited the campus, they enjoyed time with their students in their classrooms as well as a number of activities out in the beautiful weather. The highlight had to be the always-popular rocket launch on the Early Education front lawn.

Does the Bible even mention football? Throughout the week of homecoming, the Crusader Archery team was wondering why football was getting all the attention. Although the Bible mentions football nary a once, God’s word mentions arrows 57 times in 53 verses, bows are mentioned 70 times in 66 verses, and quivers are mentioned 7 times in 7 verses! And, no, coach, Leviticus 11:7's prohibition against touching the "pig skin" does not count! All the same, Crusader Archery has been hard at work preparing for three USA Archery tournaments as well as an upcoming shooting match against the formidable H.E.A.T. (the Home Educated Archery Team).

School on Saturday? Yep! On Saturday, October 14th, the Adventure Cru came to campus and enjoyed what astronomers labelled the "ring of fire eclipse". Using the school's telescope and individual glasses make for solar viewing, Mr. Bret Irwin facilitated a viewing party during which students watched as the moon passed between the earth and the sun, allowing for a shadow to be cast over portions of North America, including a corner of Arizona. The relative distance of the three celestial bodies meant that the Adventure Cru had a memorable view of the sun's outer edges ringing the moon.

Trusted Truth Transforms... It's the tagline for Northwest Christian School's foray into the realm of online education, the enrollment for which has blown up this summer. A project four years in the making, Northwest Christian School Online is not the typical online academy. Most online schools rebrand third-party digital curriculum. Instead, Northwest Christian School Online is wholly and organically developed and fully facilitated by Northwest Christian faculty. As well, the online experience is available at roughly half-the-price of other Christian online schools, a price that can be easily covered by an ESA for Arizona-based families. (To survey the price points of online Christian schools relative to NCS Online, please click here.) The most exciting aspect of Northwest Christian School Online is that some aspect of the program--Frameworks, NCS Plus, NCS Flex, and NCS Online--will ultimately impact the learning of every NCS student--whether that student is online or on-the-ground. To survey the different aspects of and opportunities within NCS Online, please follow this link. To learn more about NCS Flex specifically, please click the image below.
