Helping Needy Families Have A Brighter Future

WE LOVE THE HOLIDAYS!!

As we draw nearer to the end of 2021, our 40th year of serving Southwest Missouri, we find ourselve in an all too familiar place...hip deep in our annual Christmas project! Even though Thanksgiving is still several weeks away, it's an exciting and busy time of year and we wouldn't want it any other way! Let's take a look at what lies ahead for the remainder of 2021 plus a important request below to help us keep our email list up-to-date.

THANK YOU FROM SANTA
by Jim Crumpley

Help Give Hope, as you all know, is a year-round charity but it is Christmas-time that we all look forward to the most. Thanks to all of our volunteers, we are blessed with the ability to give hundreds of kids a Christmas that would be unattainable without everyone's help. I regret that not everyone can go on Christmas deliveries because this is truly what HGH is all about and the culmination of everything we do. When you see a mother break down in tears as box after box of toys come walking through the door, it is really a humbling experience and I get to experience Santa because of all of you. These children have bought into the whole Santa "thing" and I daresay that, at least for the younger kids, this will often be one of their best childhood memories. Because of all of you, kids who we deliver to come back a decade or two later wanting to volunteer their time because they appreciate the kindness shown to them years earlier. Because of all of you, moms have been able to go to nursing school or other degree programs, receive donated cars so they can get their kids to school or themselves to a job, get assistance with special needs such as hearing aids and other critical items they would never be able to afford, receive computers to aid with educational requirements, washers/dryers so they no longer need to go a laundromat, new or used furniture or bunk beds so they don't have to sleep on quilts or even the floor, and the list goes on and on.

Because of all of you I am blessed with families allowing us to come into their homes where I am able to witness the goodness of people, and I appreciate all of you very much for everything you do.

HGH RECEIVES COMMUNITY ACTION AWARD

Help Give Hope was selected as one of two community action organizations honored during Missouri State’s first ever Bears Basketball Network (BBN) Weekend Celebration, held October 22nd & 23rd. The purpose of the event is to annually bring former Bears basketball players together to foster increased awareness and spirit within the program. Along with Help Give Hope, the BBN also honored The Rebound Foundation, a charity started by Coach Dana Ford’s wife, Christina, and whose mission is to end the cycle of abuse through safe transitional housing for women and children, and educating youth to prevent violence.  The BBN gifted both charities with a generous contribution! Go Bears!!
