VILLAGE OF CHURCH FAIRS
Saturday, November 2nd 9am - 3pm
We will again this year be participating in the Village of Church Fairs. There are seven participating churches all within walking distance. Come join us on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9am to 3pm in our Parish Hall.
We have a great Trinkets & Treasures Table, Bake Table, Craft Table, Raffle items and so much more. Join us for a light lunch with freshly baked cookies.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 3rd at 2:00 AM! Be sure to set your clocks back one hour before heading to bed on Saturday evening.

All Saints' Day Service
Sunday, November 3rd

A warm, heartfelt Thank You to our Stewardship Committee and our Vestry for their work the past month dedicated to our Stewardship Campaign - and to our joyful and generous givers. If you have not already done so, please bring your treasure pledge cards with you to the service on Sunday. Completed pledge cards will be collected by the ushers.

Mission Trip
Washington, DC

An Informational Meeting will be held in the Sanctuary on Sunday, November 3rd at 11:30 for those interested in participating in a mission trip to Washington, DC this Summer. Come hear about the opportunities that will await us on this trip. This is a parish trip, anyone interested or who may be interested is invited to come hear the presentation.

Monday, November 18th
2pm to 9pm
Everyone in your family is invited, including pets. The photo session is free.
Lifetouch will take your photo and will review a digital copy of it with you for inclusion in the directory, which they are putting together. You will receive a free 8x10 and a free directory. There are also many packages that you can choose from for a cost if you wish.
If you are unable to sign-up on-line, please call the office.
We will be serving light refreshments on this day.

November Vestry Meeting
St. James' Vestry will meet on Wednesday, November 13th at 7pm, in Fr. John's office. Parish members are welcome to come to the meeting to observe.
|
|
There will be a Celebration of Life for Russell Poor on Sunday, November 10th at 2pm. Russell is the father of Edith Poor and grandfather of Samantha James and Ashley James.
|
|
Women on the Journey
Julia Steer will host Women on the Journey on Saturday, November 23, 2019 (the fourth Saturday of November). Fellowship at 9:30; meeting at 10am.
We will make Advent Blessing Jars for you take home to collect daily blessings during Advent to share with your family on Christmas Day.

Fellowship Group
There's a new Fellowship Group at St. James in Amesbury! Come on out and join us. All are welcome. The first meeting was a success and all had a good time. Come help us chart the course of this new venture and if you know someone who may be interested, bring them!
The next meeting is Wednesday, November 6th, 2pm - 4pm in the Parish Hall.

Cherub Chapel
It's playful worship time for "the young and restless" and a chance for caregivers to mingle: simple and fun prayers, games, songs, snack, conversations and togetherness!
Little ones and caregivers: join us on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 3:30 - 4:15pm in our Parish Hall. Everyone is invited (no church registration needed); it's free!

Children ages 3-9 are invited to this
calm and welcoming space for a
special time of learning, wonder, and play.
Come at 9:45 each Sunday - friends welcome! We join the parish in time for Holy Eucharist.
Every Sunday in the "big Church" -
there are activities and a rocking chair for babies and children to use and enjoy, while absorbing the
rhythms of the church service.

So far, youth have reviewed the Ten Commandments (and written their own
Ten Rules for Godly Living -
see the photo! ^), and talked about giving, receiving, and welcoming (by example of Zacchaeus the tax collector).
PLUS: our Cookie Walk, for Our Neighbors' Table, raised $102!!

This year's theme, chosen by the Diocesan Youth Council, is
"Our World; Our Future..." Peers and leaders are encouraging retreatants to consider God's invitation to us all to join in the divine work of creating a better world.

Flatbread Company
Pub style singing of songs of hope! Come one, come all for a community sing-a-long. It's all fun. This event is held at Flatbread in the Event Room. If you plan to eat prior, come early.

Our Neighbors' Table
We are collecting non-perishable food for the cooler months ahead for Our Neighbors' Table. Personal items are always needed also. Items may be left in the basket at the back of the church - they are brought to our altar for a blessing.
