As we enter the holiday season, We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for all ACLD staff. At Thanksgiving, we often find ourselves taking stock of what we are most grateful for; friends, family, health. At the top of our list is having such a compassionate and caring workforce dedicated to our mission. Each of you plays an integral role in improving the lives of the people we support, and we cannot thank you enough for that.

Going Above and Beyond

Jeff Michel, a per diem Direct Support Professional at Chichester, recently went above and beyond when he offered to take some of the people supported on a trip to Great Adventure in New Jersey. When the staff member who was scheduled to take them was not able to and Jeff saw how disappointed the people supported were, he rearranged his schedule to take them. They were so excited, and all had a great time. Thank you, Jeff!

Congratulations!

Last month, Jeanette DeBonis, Receptionist/Secretary and Community Habilitation Specialist at Hauppauge competed at the PARAGON OPEN DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024, competing against the best in Dancesport!

Jeanette DeBonis and Alon Gilin @ Dynamo Dance competed against 7 couples at the Silver level and placed first and second in the single heats and sixth place in Championship and Scholarship.

Jeanette is looking forward to her next competition in March 2025- Keep on dancing, Jeanette!
