When counterfeit Christianity comes knocking
Shane and Dixie Wise were sixth-generation Latter-day Saints when they met the real Jesus and left the LDS Church. Charles Smith was a Jehovah's Witness leader who came to faith in Christ while reading 1 John 5 in the back of a Kingdom Hall. Watch their testimonies - and more - Nov. 7 during a live-streamed event, "When Counterfeit Christianity Comes Knocking," at South Gate Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo.

Answering common objections to the Bible: Part 2
Many who disbelieve the Bible's claims to be the word of God raise objections. Often, these objections are sincere, but sometimes they're designed to attack our faith rather than earnestly seek the truth. In any case, these objections merit a response. This post builds on a previous one, addressing four additional objections.

God as the Father of Israel
The Israelites enjoy a unique relationship with Yahweh, who creates a nation for Himself out of the pagan tribes of the world. Then, He calls Himself the Father of Israel. This special relationship is anchored in God's sovereign will and eternal plan to deliver the redemption of sinful mankind through a special people marked off as His own.

A verse-by-verse commentary on Jude
The short epistle of Jude is often overlooked. That's unfortunate because it speaks volumes about the value of Christian apologetics. The Last Apologist is a verse-by-verse commentary on Jude. In addition, it explores key words and phrases, and poses thought-provoking questions that make this book a handy resource for personal or group study.

God as Father of the church
Let's consider the wonderful doctrine of God as Father of the church -- specifically, as the Father of everyone who receives His Son, Jesus Christ, by faith and thus is adopted into God's family.

Coming soon to Audible: Jesus Before Bethlehem
High Street Press, the publishing imprint of the Missouri Baptist Convention, will soon offer its new resource, Jesus Before Bethlehem: What Every Christian Should Know About the Angel of the LORD, as an audio book on Audible. This 335-page resource explores dozens of Old Testament Christophanies, or appearances of the preincarnate Christ. Written for pastors and laypersons, the study is designed to show how the eternal Son of God has always taken a personal interest in those He created to be His imagers on earth.
