ArtArt for the Park

Our 4th annual Art for the Park is bigger and better than ever before! The event will be held on November 2 & 3 at the Atlanta Country Club.  This event includes free parking and admission and is open to the public 10:30 am-8:30 pm both days. Lots of special events and opportunities. 

Artist Symposium is a Must-See Exclusive Event! 
November 3rd, 6 pm
Where else in East Cobb can you bring a friend or date to Atlanta Country Club for a wonderful Tapas meal with wine, an opportunity  to purchase a signature drink, the McFarlane Fizz, while you listen to world renowned wood sculptor Matt Moulthrop describe  his art and the process of creating his museum quality pieces?

We enjoyed having guest speaker, Julie Crow of Fuel Builders talk about Living Energized.

Fuel Builder Top 10 Tips: 
  • Always eat breakfast and eat every 3-4 hours 
  • Eat balanced meals 
  • Always pair a protein with a carb 
  • Time your sugar and limit it portion control 
  • Avoid fried foods, cream sauce, and full fat dairy 
  • Drink plenty of water 
  • Plan ahead and be prepared 
  • Don't let a slip up at one meal influence the rest of your day

November 11: "Living Thankfully" - Normandy-Inspired Cheeses and Wine Pairing. The annual event is from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm,  at the home of Cindy Formica  (4758 RiverCliff Landing). Register now!

Since it's Veteran's Day, we will feature a Norma ndy themed wine and cheese event courtesy of the Kroger Wine Shop and Murray's cheese shop. In the spirit of "all things French" Aurelie Barrial, a new member to the club from France, will help us with the menu and show us how to create French food from scratch. 

We will also have the opportunity to hear from Wellspring, our charity for the Gala. We will be given a quick overview of what Wellspring is and opportunities for us to support the organization. We are gathering items for girls ages 12-35 for Christmas gifts. Item s that are being accepted are fuzzy socks, pretty scarves, and Target gift cards.  Please bring these items with you to the  November 11  meeting.

Since our luncheon falls on Veteran's Day, wear something patriotic to show your  support for all our veterans!

Globe Trekkers: Save the date: Nov 10th!
The next meeting will be a Potluck gathering at Shea Amin's home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (4508 Chattahoochee Plantation Dr) It will be fun if you come with pictures of your last trip or ideas for places to go or cruises to take.  Even if you have not signed in this interest group but you have visited other countries & you would like to share your experience with others, then you are also welcome to come.

Garden Club: Save the date: Nov 3rd!
The Garden Club Interest Group will meet as a group to support Art in the Park, and learn from Master Gardner/ Landscape Designer Sandra Sandefur and Contemporary Basketry by Matt Tommey as they teach us to "Surround Ourselves with Flowers" at the Atlanta Country Club .  

The program begins at 10:30 am, but plan to be there a little early so we can all sit together, and allow time to walk through and look at the art and jewelry afterwards. For questions, contact  Melinda Stuk ( 678-447-8108).

Daytime Book Club: Save the date: Nov 14th! 
The next meeting will be at 10:00 am  on  Monday, Nov. 14 , at Judy B oyce's home (148 Woodlawn Dr.) We will be  discussing  Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World  by Haruki Murakami.

Evening Book Club: 
We are meeting in November to discuss In the Unlikely Event by Judy Bloom. Anyone interested can Veronica Bridges.  

Evening Group: Save the date: Nov 15th!
We had a very informative meeting in October with Scott Armstrong of Edward Jones, giving his insights into the market today and ways to plan for the future. A big thanks to Beth Armstrong for hosting and to all the members who attended and kept Scott busy with all their questions.

Our November 15 meeting will be at the home of Janet Thomas, 581 Glen Eagles Circle.  Laura Moore of Thompson's Frame and Gallery will show us examples of different framing techniques and give us ideas of how to frame or reframe photos, artwork and personal mementos.  A favorite item, once framed, makes a wonderfully personal holiday gift!

CPCA CPCA Annal Homeowners Meeting: Nov. 13th at 6:30 pm
All CPWC members live in the boundaries of the Chattahoochee Plantation Homeowners' Association (CPCA). The CPCA  works on your behalf, by being your representative to the county, hiring extra security police protection, and publishing  a newsletter and directory.  Our annual homeowners meeting will be held on  Sunday, November 13 , at  6:30 , at the Atlanta
Country Club ballroom.  Important topics up for discussion include traffic, the light on Paper Mill Road, paving, security issues.  Please come and find out what is happening in your neighborhood.  

We are also getting ready to publish a newsletter before the CPCA meeting and we will publish a new directory in January 2017.  If you feel we don't have your correct information, please contact  Janie Kissling.
