PRB presents The Nutcracker at the Scottish Rite Theater on Saturday, December 1st at 1 PM & 5 PM and Sunday, December 2nd at 2 PM. The performance will include the pre-professional division dancers from PRB, the wonderful Pennsylvania Regional Ballet Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Gregory Woodbridge, and guest artists including Ashley Bouder and Gonzalo Garcia of the New York City Ballet. Meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier Ashley Bouder was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and began her ballet training at the age of six at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet with Marcia Dale Weary. After attending the 1999 Summer Program at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, she was invited by SAB to continue her training during the Winter Session. As a student, Ms. Bouder performed featured roles in Balanchine's Dances Concertantes and Stars and Stripes for the School of American Ballet's 2000 Annual Spring Workshop. Ms. Bouder was named an apprentice with New York City Ballet in June 2000 and became a member of the corps de ballet that October. She was promoted to the rank of soloist in February 2004, and in January 2005, Ms. Bouder was promoted to principal dancer. Ashley Bouder Portrait © Paul Kolnik

Gonzalo Garcia    Portrait © Erin Baiano Gonzalo Garcia is a principal dancer with New York City Ballet. Born in Zaragoza, Spain, Mr. Garcia began studying ballet at the age of eight at Maria Avila's school. In 1995, he attended the summer session at San Francisco Ballet School. Following this session, Mr. Garcia participated in the Prix de Lausanne, becoming the youngest dancer to receive a gold medal. He then returned to the School to resume his studies and was selected by Helgi Tomasson, Artistic Director of San Francisco Ballet, to perform in a world premiere ballet created especially for the 1996 Spring Student Showcase. Mr. Garcia joined San Francisco Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in March 1998. In 2000, he was promoted to soloist, and in 2002 to principal dancer. Mr. Garcia was invited to perform Balanchine's Ballo della Regina with New York City Ballet as part of the Company's Balanchine Centennial Celebration in 2004. Mr. Garcia joined New York City Ballet in October 2007 as a principal dancer.

The Enchanted Nutcracker Tea is a special event where the PRB dancers perform as the story of The Nutcracker is read by Kayla Repasky, Miss Pennsylvania. This is an interactive event where the characters of The Nutcracker engage with the audience. There will be photo opportunities and even autographs from select members of the cast and Miss Repasky. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite doll or stuffed animal to the event and will have the opportunity to shop with local vendors for both themselves and their doll or stuffed animal. click here to purchase tickets for the Nutcracker Tea

Pennsylvania Regional Ballet Bookfair at BARNES & NOBLE Camp Hill ( 58 S 32nd Street ) On Saturday, November 10th at 11 AM Join the Pennsylvania Regional Ballet dancers for a story of the Nutcracker Ballet and a fun performance following the story. Meet Clara, Fritz, life size dolls, and dancing candies from the "Land of the Sweets!" Midtown Scholar Appearance (1302 N 3rd St Harrisburg) Pennsylvania Regional Ballet presents "The Story of the Nutcracker" at the Little Scholar on Saturday, November 10th at 11AM. Come and meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends! There will be a short performance following the story. This is a Free Event
