The Nutcracker is Back!
On December 10 at 11 a.m., the Kardon-Northeast Branch Ballet Program will present Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker in the Kardon-Northeast Branch auditorium. Instructed by ballet faculty members Olga Blumenkrants and Erin Ruggiero, the students of the KNE Ballet program will showcase their skills in this holiday classic. The Nutcracker will also be preceded by a special opening performance by the Kardon-Northeast Branch String Ensemble, directed and accompanied on piano by KNE violin faculty member Viktor Repik. This event is free and open to the public. We would love for you to join us for this wonderful holiday performance!

An alumnus of our Germantown Branch, Battles has performed George Walker’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in a private engagement at the composer’s home, and was recognized by AL DÍA as a “40 Under Forty” honoree in 2020. Battles studies with internationally acclaimed pianist Leon Bates, and has also studied with Jonathan Coopersmith, Chair of Musical Studies at the Curtis Institute of Music.
