While COVID-19 may have brought a halt to the global travel industry, Ocean Hotels Barbados has been a hive of activity, transforming our much-loved hotel Ocean Two Resort & Residences, into O2 Beach Club & Spa, a stunning, 5-star luxury, boutique all-inclusive resort. We know that many of you are keen to hear more about what we've been up to, and we'd like to invite you to join us on our virtual journey until you can join us in person.
Each month, from now until launch, we will be sharing with you the inside stories and tantalizing updates on all aspects of the resort, including our fantastic beach development, world-class spa facilities, and spectacular rooftop dining area with stunning views over the Caribbean sea.

THE CHANGES
For those of you who know and love Ocean Two, you’re sure to ask yourself what will be different? So, let’s start at the very beginning…
With a brand new reception building in the works, the original welcome desk will become the home of our concierge dream team. With their extensive knowledge of all the very best the island has to offer, our dream team can help design your best vacation. Whether you need assistance in booking resort activities, making dinner reservations, or finding the most exciting things to do or see in Barbados, our dream team is here to help. With all of the restaurants at our sister resort Sea Breeze Beach House also available, you'll be spoilt for choice.
Taste Restaurant has been renamed Bluefin Beachside Grill and will become the casual daytime spot, the ideal place to grab a delicious salad or a homemade burger freshly grilled right in front of your eyes on the new live cooking station. Chairs and tables directly on the sand will make this a firm favourite especially as it’s swimsuit friendly.
Coffee and ‘Tings’ in the Oasis Lounge will still be serving delicious coffees and tipsy teas along with scrumptious pastries and cakes, but will now also provide a relaxed option for a simple grab-and-go breakfast or a shady escape for afternoon tea.

Heading to the roof you’ll find the biggest change, where we've created Brisa, an exciting new tapas bar and lounge with endless views and serving delicious small bites. We've added shady pergolas, comfy seating, more bathrooms, a kitchen, and upgraded all the decking. This is sure to become your go-to spot for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles or an after-dinner aged rum with a bite-size dessert. Stargazing never felt so good!

Moving onto the rooms, although these were renovated in 2019, the final touches will be completed with new drapery, mattresses, TV, and artwork. You’ll also find that we have now divided the rooms into various collections: The Hotel rooms and Deluxe Hotel Rooms will now be categorized as our Club Collection. The suites, both Bayview and Oceanfront, will become our Concierge Collection and will feature a host of exciting additional amenities.
THE EXPANSION
Talking about our wonderful rooms, welcome to our new Luxury Collection. As part of the expansion project, we have created 42 new luxury ocean view and oceanfront suites; all adult-only, wonderfully appointed, beautifully decorated, and enhanced with additional amenities.

Guests on the ground floor will enjoy stepping from their balconies into the new adult-only, river pool and heading to the swim-up bar H2O for their favourite cocktail.
In the centre of the new resort is Elements the new main restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served. This beautiful open air space along with a stunning crescent bar overlooking the beach is sure to become the central hang-out spot of the resort.
For those that aren’t fans of the sand, we’ve thought of you too, and created a fabulous sun terrace above the Elements restaurant with cabanas and jacuzzi tubs to while away your days.

Heading to the skies, on the eighth floor you will find our fabulous luxury spa Acqua, the perfect place to revitalize and re-energize your soul. With the theme of healing through water, make sure you book yourself in for one of the unique Hammam experiences.
At O2, when we say your dining experience will take you to cloud 9 we mean Oro our luxurious air-conditioned fine dining restaurant. With an eclectic menu that features European favourites with a distinctive Caribbean twist, you're sure to be elevated to culinary heights.

And as the day draws to a close we recommend heading to the roof deck, Oro Star Terrace for the most spectacular views and sunsets to die for – accompanied by the sound of the conch shell to signify our sunset ritual of champagne and canapes.

THE WORKS
In this section, we’ll be giving you the nuts and bolts of what’s happening with the construction of the project.

The great news is that we're still on schedule and are already completing the roof of the new construction nine-story building. Tiling started a few weeks ago along with the installation of the windows and is moving rapidly along. Due to the clever construction technique, the building is already watertight so we were able to begin on the interiors even before the full construction was completed.
The pool area is defined, and you can begin to see where the magic will happen at H2O where the DJ will be playing his tunes.
Elements restaurant is nearly finished with the external walls being painted and all floor tiling completed.
Work on the reception building is well underway and will be a stunning entrance to the new hotel.
On the roof deck of the existing building, Brisa, the new tapas lounge and bar will be the first to be completed as we're 50% of the way through the re-decking, the new roof, banquette seating, and fabulous new pergolas are already in place.
