Dan Schnur for Secretary of State & the 55th Assembly District

Thank you to Dan Schnur, candidate for California Secretary of State, and candidates for the 55th Assembly District - Diamond Bar Council Member Ling Ling Chang, Walnut Valley Unified School District Trustee Phillip Chen and Diamond Bar Council Member Steven Tye. Also, special thanks to OCTax Chairman Curt Pringle for moderating.

At the meeting, Dan Schnur discussed a number of ways the Secretary of State's office can use technology to streamline the process for small businesses to get started and how to make voting more convenient through online tools - like one that would allow voters to look up their polling location. Did you know that to this day, the Secretary of State's office still keeps records and applications on index cards?! Talk about antiquated technology. No wonder it takes businesses 8-10 weeks to get a business license.

In the debate for the 55th Assembly District, that candidates discussed an array of issues important to Orange County voters. These issues included the 405 expansion, the 241 toll road, and vehicle license fees. While the 55th spans 3 counties, Orange County makes up 47% of the district.
