Day of Mourning Ceremonies

Communities across Ontario held events on April 28 to honour the National Day of Mourning. OHCOW Executive Director Brittney Ramakko and Occupational Health Coordinator Jessica Montgomery attended Sudbury's ceremony that featured presentations, exhibits and a wreath-laying ceremony. OHCOW Worker gets Civic Award

Jessica Montgomery, an Occupational Health Coordinator at OHCOW and the Sudbury and District Labour Council President, has received a Civil Award for Volunteerism from the Mayor and Council of Sudbury. She spoke at the National Day of Mourning ceremonies on April 28. Congratulations Jessica, and thank you for your commitment and dedication!

MAY 5 - 9th Construction Safety Week

Women in Industrial Hygiene


Krista Thompson is an OHCOW Occupational Hygienist and the Secretary-Elect of the The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)’s Women in Industrial Hygiene (WIH) Committee. Recently she was a guest on the AIHA Healthier Workplaces Show Podcast to discuss her work in the field and how women can support each other.

In March she introduced and moderated the AIHA’s Women in Industrial Hygiene discussion panel. Check it out!
