Documentary Screening

At The River: Struggle and Grace in the Segregated South

Saturday, August 27 | 6pm | Pebble Hill

Join us for this special one-time screening of this feature documentary by native Alabamian and Auburn alum Carolyn Crowder. Crowder, who was raised in Montgomery, Alabama, during the Civil Rights era, set out to interview Presbyterian ministers, now in their 80’s and 90’s, who had taken stands during those turbulent times. Often isolated in small towns in the Deep South, some chose to be brave in spite of the dangerous circumstances. Two of these ministers served the First Presbyterian Church of Auburn and inspired Crowder to make this film. There will be a Q&A after the screening.
