Happy New Year & Welcome To The 2020-2021 Season!
The OMARA Board of Directors hopes you and your families have been healthy and safe during this difficult time. We are all grateful Okemo is open and our competition programs are up and running. Thank you to Okemo, OMS and our coaches for making this happen under very challenging circumstances!
Unfortunately, we are not able to have our annual meeting in person this year, but will hold the meeting via Zoom onTuesday, January 26th at 7PM, link information is below. The board has sent proxies out to last season’s members. If you were a member as of January 31, 2020 and you do not receive a proxy please let us know at info@go2omara.com.
If you will not be attending the annual meeting, the OMARA Board of Directors is asking members to approve via proxy the following:
- The board is recommending the addition of 3 board of directors to the existing board increasing the board from 9 to 12.
- The board is recommending the approval of Charity Buchika, Lucy Kampf, Nicole Petersen and Patrick Streck to serve their first 3 year term on the OMARA Board Of Directors. Thank you Lucy, Patrick, Charity and Nicole for volunteering.
Please return your proxy prior to the annual meeting so the OMARA Board can move forward with our four new directors!
Since our annual meeting last December OMARA has:

Purchased two additional cameras currently being installed on the Pipe and Blackout to provide video streaming there as well as War Dance. Once the cameras are up and running the streams can be viewed on OMARA’s web site, go2omara.com. OMARA also pays the monthly streaming fees. We are very appreciative that Okemo is working with us to get these additional cameras up and running in the midst of everything they have had to deal with getting Okemo open this season.
- Continued to support all of our coaches though certifications and clinics. Last season in addition to paying for USSA certifications, OMARA sponsored Phil McNicol to come to Okemo for a coaches’ clinic. This season OMARA is paying for virtual clinics.
- Awarded needs based scholarships early last season and has rolled the scholarship money we were not able to spend late last season into this year’s scholarship budget. We have awarded needs based scholarships for this season and are working with the Competition Center and OMS to understand the best way to support athletes as this season continues to unfold. OMARA also applied for and received a generous Epic Promise grant last season 100% of which went to the scholarship fund. We have applied for this grant again this year.
- Sponsored the Marco and Anna Sullivan speed camp again last season.
- Sponsored socials upstairs at sitting bull at the end of the ski day and are looking forward to being able to sponsor get togethers again as soon as we are able. We also paid for individual socials for different groups and are looking forward to being able to do this again.
- Approved the purchase of new camera equipment for our head coaches.
