The final week of the Ocala Spring Classics wrapped up at the Florida Horse Park Sunday, and the jumpers were out in full force for the final week!
David Jennings of Franklin, Tennessee, and The Presley Partners’ Presley Degli Assi capped off the week with a trip to the winner’s circle in Sunday’s $35,000 Sidelines Grand Prix.
A field of 31 horse and rider teams tackled the course designed by Paul Jewell of Windsor, New Jersey. Twelve advanced to the jump-off round, with a time allowed of 48 seconds.
Ryan Genn of Wellington, Florida and Bridlebourne Stables, LLC’s Venezia D’Austral Z were the first of twelve jump off rounds. Their clear jump-off round in a time of 39.796 seconds set the new time to beat.
Dominique Damico of Ocala, Florida, and her own Cava, followed in the order and their clear jump off round in 39.417 seconds took the lead.
The lead was short-lived when Vicente Guillen and Tranquility Farm’s Evolene De Carles followed Damico. Their fault-free time of 37.742 seconds moved them into first place, but again, the lead was short-lived.
David Jennings and Presley Degli Assi were up next and, with a fault-free jump-off round in 37.101 seconds, took the lead.
Jennings said, “Paul Jewel set a challenging but fair course. I watched the first two jump off, and they looked blistering fast. My strategy was to try and be as smooth and efficient as possible while leaving all the jumps up, and fortunately, everything showed itself on the forward step!”
Yann Candele of Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, and Kama Godek’s Conny 409 followed, and with their time of 52.623 seconds and nine faults, earned a twelfth-place finish.
Jenni McAllister of Ocala, Florida and Bertrand Legriffon’s Toulamba were up next and with their fault free jump off round in 39.629 seconds, earned sixth place.
Tracy Fenney of Ocala and MTM Farm’s MTM My Life Be Like earned eight jump faults with a time of 37.208 and finished in eleventh overall.
Schuyler Dayner of Ocala, Florida and Andrea Wolley’s For Real Z turned in a clear jump off round, and their time of 40.664 seconds earned them an eighth place.
Matthias Holberg of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and his own Rocketman followed. Their four-fault jump-off round in a time of 38.811 seconds awarded them ninth place.
Paige Jones of Landenburg, Pennsylvania, aboard Amberfax Farm, Inc.’s Jamaica turned in a clear jump off round in 38.220 seconds and won third place. Manuel Torres of Ocala, Florida, and his own Conthalando PS posted a clear jump off round and their time of 39.389 seconds, earned them a fourth place ribbon.
Ryan Genn returned as the last to go in the jump-off with Bridlebourne Stables, LLC’s Concenthaga PS. Their four fault round in 39.343 seconds earned them a tenth place and secured the win for Jennings and Presley Degli Assi.
According to Jennings, “Elvis is turning 11 this year. I’ve had him for a year and a half, and he’s consistently placed in the ribbons in all the Grand Prix I’ve done. I had a couple of wins on him last year, and he really steps up when I call on him in the jump off.”
Guillen and Evolene De Carles finished in second, Damico and Cava earned a fifth placing, and Genn finished in seventh with Venezia D’Austral Z.
Jennings added, “I’ve been attending Classic Company horse shows for many years, and Bob and Allen always do a great job hosting their events.”

Kirk Webby and Jamie Stryker’s Cameron 38
Win the $7,500 Ocala Spring Classic Welcome
Congratulations to Kirk Webby and Jamie Stryker’s Cameron 38 for winning the $7,500 Ocala Spring Classic Welcome. The pair bested a field of 26 horse and rider teams in a true horse race of a competition.
The second round time was set at 47 seconds. Manuel Torres and his own Conthalando PS, were the first to go in the class, advancing to the jump-off and turning that time into 37.983 seconds.
Paige Jones and Amberfax Farm, Inc.’s Jamaica followed and set the new time to beat at 35.988 seconds. Ryan Genn and Bridlebourne Stables, LLC’s Concenthaga PS looked to beat that time in the next clear second round, but their 37.650 seconds would see them finish in seventh overall.
Maya Denis, with her own Callyspo De La Hamente Z followed in the order and, with their fault-free second round time of 33.718 seconds, set the new time to beat.
Yan Candell and Kama Godek’s Conny 409 also advanced to the second round, and despite going clear, their time of 35.442 seconds earned them fourth place.
Two rides later, Webby and Cameron 38 were up. The pair advanced to the second round, and their lightning-fast time of 33.697 seconds took the lead.
According to Webby, “He’s an 11-year-old gelding that I’ve really been competing for about a year and a half. He had a great winter and won a lot of classes. He’s careful and quick and is a really fun, competitive horse. I went reasonably early in the second round, and there were a couple of quick ones that went before me.”
“He’s really good at turning back, and things just came up right. There were a couple of tight turn-backs that suited him. Paul [Jewell] did a great job designing the course. He is an old friend of mine and I always like riding his courses. We had a lot more horses for the final week of the show, which made for a bit of sport,” he added.
David Jennings and The Follow Me Group’s Follow Me were the next up after Webby. Four jump faults in a time of 36.650 seconds earned them eleventh place. Three rides later, Matthias Hollberg and his own Rocketman turned in a clear second round, but their time of 37.510 seconds earned them sixth place.
Genn followed Hollberg in the order of go, with his next mount, Bridlebourne Stables, LLC’s Faveur De Piquet. They posted a clear second round in 35.324 seconds and earned third place.
Schuyler Dana, aboard Andrea Wooley’s For Real Z, followed. The pair had a heartbreak rail, earning four jump faults, and with their time of 37.456 seconds, finished in twelfth place.
La Rochelle, owned and ridden by Collin Reynolds, followed in the second round. Their fault-free time of 38.129 seconds earned them ninth place.
Jenni McAllister and Marlene Hart’s Simona VS earned four faults in the second round, and their time of 35.961 seconds would see them finish in tenth.
The final results had Denis with her own Callyspo De La Hamente Z in second place, Genn and Faveur De Piquet finished in third and he also placed seventh with Concenthaga PS. Jones and Amberfax Farm, Inc.’s Jamaica finished in fifth place, and Torres and his own Conthalando PS earned an eighth placing.
Twenty-three horse and rider teams tackled the $5,000Schneiders SaddleryJumper Classic 1.25 m over a course designed by Paul Jewell.
Vicente Guillen and Andrea Scioscia’s Lunara S kicked off the class when the pair advanced to a second round opportunity, earning four jump faults in a time of 29.399 seconds. David Jennings and The Follow Me Group’s Follow Me challenged that with their clear second round in a time of 29.216 seconds and took the lead.
It would be five rides later until the next horse and rider team would advance to a second round. Heather Kuiper of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Wind Haven Farm’s Bianca Du Rouet earned four jump faults at fence 2 in a time of 33.692 seconds and earned tenth place.
Matthias Hollberg and Dean Richardson’s Ramona followed and also earned four jump faults at the second fence, and with a time of 30.369 seconds, finished in seventh place.
Hayley Waters Wear in the irons of Chuck Waters’ Newberry Balia N were the next to advance to a second-round opportunity. The pair posted a clear round in 30.927 seconds and secured fourth place.
The next two rides all had issues with fence 2 in the second round and wouldn’t advance to the ribbons.
Caroline Mcleese of Wellington, Florida, and Hays Investment Corp.’s Heup Laboum Destiny’s were the next pair to advance to the ribbons in the second round. Their four fault round, in a time of 30.732 seconds, earned them eighth place.
Denis and Jantien De Muze were the next to advance to the second round. “The course had a few short lines where you had to come in quietly and make sure you had enough space for the jump, but overall, it rode nicely and was challenging enough.”
Denis continued, “From the first to the second jump, I did one stride more compared to the others. But that allowed me to come in a straight line to that jump that was being knocked over quite a bit and be able to keep a nice forward rhythm, which then allowed me to do one less stride from 2 to 3. After that, I just tried to keep a forward rhythm and kept my turns tight, which, thankfully, paid off!”
The pair posted a clear round in a time of 28.678 seconds and took the lead.
Ivy Nyberg and her own Indianapolis followed Denis, but the second jump earned them four faults, and their time of 29.858 seconds would see them finish in sixth overall.
Caroline Zonger and her own A Class HHF followed in the order. Four jump faults in a second round time of 31.089 seconds earned them ninth place.
David Jennings and his second mount, Bionce Des Monts, owned by Hillview Farm Sporthorses, sat in the enviable last-to-go position and were the final pair to advance to a second round opportunity. Although they posted a clear round, their time of 29.143 seconds wasn’t fast enough to beat Denis and Jantien De Muze. They finished in second, securing the win for Denis.
According to Denis, “My horse has done bigger classes in the past, but just recently got back into the show ring due to an injury, so it made me really happy to have him feeling good and take the win.”
