We are all deeply concerned about the spread of the coronavirus and its impact on our community, our families, and our loved ones. Please know that the Oceanside City Council, along with our entire City organization, are working with our colleagues in neighboring cities, the county, the state and congressional elected officials, non-profits, and our private sector partners to identify needs, resources, and services for our community. Oceanside’s Emergency Operations Center is activated and responding each day. We are working full speed to respond to the many concerns and needs we are hearing. I appreciate the way our community is coming together to address this situation.

Due to Measure X funding, the City has never been more poised to respond to a pandemic like COVID-19.
With Measure X revenue, the City enhanced its Emergency Service Delivery Model in September 2019. EMTs were instated to provide two Basic Life Support ambulance teams to supplement the City's current Advanced Life Support ambulances. An additional ambulance was also purchased. This reduces response times and reshapes emergency service delivery to optimize the medical aid that residents receive.
The coming Beachfront Improvement Project, supplemented by a State grant and Measure X funds, is scheduled to break ground April 6. Construction is identified as a critical industry, so this project is continuing during the COVID-19 emergency.

The Census is happening now! Respond today. In mid-March, each residence should have received an invitation to complete the 2020 Census. It has never been easier to respond on your own, whether online, over the phone or by mail. When filling out the Census, you should indicate where you live as of April 1. Your response matters and you can respond in many languages! The census can shape many different aspects of our community: Health clinics. Fire departments. Schools. Even roads and highways
