Crews began a new cycle of repairs across many areas as part of the ongoing Pavement Management Program, with projects focusing primarily on high-traffic roads. Oceanside is gearing up for what might be a formidable El Niño season, according to forecasters. Departments across Public Works, Fire, Police, Engineering, and Water Utilities have formed a joint working group to align on infrastructure readiness and storm responses. Read on

Work continues on Phase II of the Downtown Water and Sewer Replacement Project, replacing over 3 miles of aging sewer pipe and 2.5 miles of water main along downtown streets and alleys, some of it nearly a century old. The two-year effort also adds a new stretch of recycled water line to expand sustainable water service downtown. Project Map

Oceanside voters head to the polls on November 3 to decide two City Council seats: District 1 and District 2, along with a pair of ballot measures. Measure R proposes a charter amendment, while Measure S asks residents whether to approve a half-cent sales tax to fund city services. The Levitt BLOC Oceanside Music Series returns with four free Saturday concerts running September 12 through October 3. Mance Buchanon Park hosts the next one with SambaDá and Kainga Music on Sept. 12, followed by Kimmi Bitter on Sept. 19, before the series shifts to Martin Luther King Jr. Park for KÜF Knotz on Sept. 26, and headliner Tommy Castro & the Painkillers to close things out on October 3. This fall, the City transitions homeless outreach from the Police Department's Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) to the Homeless Evaluation, Assistance & Response Team (HEART), a civilian-led group pairing social workers with behavioral health staff to connect residents directly to housing, medical care, and stabilization support. Funded through Measure X, HEART marks a shift toward service-based engagement. Learn more
