Annual Harbor Dredge Wrapping Up

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredges the Harbor inlet for the safe navigation of vessels. The sand dredged is pumped onto Oceanside beaches. This operation will wrap up today, May 1. Crews will begin to demobilize equipment on May 4, which could take up to a week. The parking lot at the Oceanside Pier should reopen by Friday, May 8, and Lot 12 at Harbor Beach should reopen by May 11. I-5 / SR 78 Interchange Project Public Meeting May 13

Caltrans and SANDAG invite you to a meeting on Wednesday, May 13 at 6 p.m. at South Oceanside Elementary School (1806 S. Horne St.) to learn about the proposed I-5/SR 78 Interchange Improvements Project. You'll have the opportunity for one-on-one conversations and to provide comments. Learn more

Oceanside Pier Repair Update

The City awarded an engineering design contract to develop plans to rebuild the damaged Pier's west end. Design documents are expected to be completed by September, with construction bids to follow, and work beginning as early as April 2027. The City expects to reopen the Pier's end once the structural repairs are complete, before the restaurant is rebuilt. 90% of the Pier is currently open. Enjoy a walk soon! More

Tree Canopy for Climate Program

Oceanside's new Canopy for Climate Program offers no-cost trees to residents and businesses to plant on their property, helping provide shade, improve air quality, and reduce energy costs. In partnership with Tree San Diego, trees can be picked up, voucher-redeemed at a nursery, or delivered to your door. Water & Sewer Line Modernization Project Underway

Phase 2 of Oceanside's downtown water and sewer replacement project is underway. The project is part of a five-phase program to upgrade aging infrastructure. The work replaces over 3 miles of sewer lines, 2.5 miles of water mains, and adds a mile of recycled water pipeline, expanding sustainable water options for irrigation. Oceanside is hosting Public Works Day at Ditmar and Civic Center on Thursday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You're invited to view (and try out!) equipment and meet team members to learn more about what we do. Stay and enjoy music, food, and local artisans at the adjacent Mainstreet Oceanside Farmer's Market. The Public Works Department maintains the City's transportation system, streetlights, public landscaping, parks, public buildings, beaches and Pier. Details
