Crown Heights Community Resource Center Renovations Underway

Oceanside embarked on a project to rehabilitate the historic Crown Heights Community Resource Center on Division Street. This nearly 100-year old unique domed structure was designed by renowned architect Irving J. Gill. It's recevied a new foundation and seismic retrofitting, along with all new electric, plumbing, HVAC, and more. Details

E-Bike Safety Ordinance Update

Due to an increase in unsafe e-bike riding incidents, the Oceanside Police Department recently took steps to strengthen safety measures, while maintaining a strong education-first approach focused on youth safety and community awareness. New Climate Action Plan Website

The City of Oceanside launched a new Climate Action Plan (CAP) website, a central hub for learning about the City’s actions and plans for a more resilient future by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving resources, and guiding sustainable development,

while also highlighting ways you can help achieve the CAP’s goals. As the CAP continues to progress, the website will grow alongside it, sharing updates, metrics, and reports to keep you informed. More

Downtown Water & Sewer Project Set to Begin in March

Oceanside will begin Phase 2 of its downtown water and sewer replacement project in March, part of a five-phase program to upgrade aging infrastructure. The project will replace over 3 miles of sewer lines, 2.5 miles of water mains, and add a mile of recycled water pipe to expand sustainable water options for irrigation. Construction will maintain the flow of traffic. Any road closures will be limited to nighttime, and work will be restricted during busy periods and events. Details

The next regular City Council meetings take place at 5 p.m. on February 4 and February 18 at Oceanside City Hall. View the Council meetings live on the City website and on KOCT TV. Dune Restoration Pilot Project

A Coastal Dune Restoration Pilot Project has begun at small areas at North Harbor Beach, North Strand, and the San Luis Rey River mouth. Crews installed fencing and planted native Pink Sand Verbena seeds harvested from Camp Pendleton, with an aim to restore historic dune systems along our shoreline. Eventually, the dunes will provide natural, low-cost protection against storms and high waves and create wildlife habitat. Learn more
