City Breaks Ground on Pure Water Oceanside
|
The City of Oceanside broke ground on Pure Water Oceanside, a project that will purify recycled water to create a new local source of high-quality drinking water that is clean, safe, drought-proof, and environmentally sound. Scheduled to be completed in 2021, Pure Water Oceanside will be the first operating advanced water purification facility in San Diego County. The $67 million project will source recycled water from the City’s San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility. Advanced technology will be used to replicate and accelerate the natural recycling process to provide 3-5 million gallons per day, or more than 32% of the City of Oceanside’s water supply. You can learn more about Pure Water Oceanside by scheduling a behind-the-scenes tour at the San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility.

Census 2020 begins in March
|
The U.S. Constitution mandates a census of the population every 10 years. Census statistics are used to determine the number of seats each state holds in the U.S. House of Representatives and to inform how billions of dollars in federal funds will be allocated by state, local, and federal lawmakers.
In mid-March, residents will begin receiving postcard invitations to complete the 2020 Census. Once the official invitation arrives at your home, you should respond in one of three ways: online, by phone, or by mail. The card will include detailed information about how to respond. In May-July, census takers go door-to-door to count people who have not responded to the 2020 Census.
