Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement to Resume in the New Year

Street sweeping parking enforcement will resume on January 4, 2021. The first two weeks of this resumption will result in warnings to the vehicles in the way of the sweeper, and citations will be given starting the week of January 18, 2021. Between now and then, staff will continue routine sweeping without enforcement while addressing signage and tree trim needs, and will tag potentially abandoned or stored cars on the street.

The City of Oceanside has been working through the lengthy process of constructing railroad crossing improvements to meet Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements to establish a Quiet Zone through Oceanside. In a Quiet Zone, active devices such as gates, signals, and railings warn vehicle and pedestrian traffic of on-coming trains in lieu of the routine sounding of their horns. Train horns will still be used in emergency situations. Cities desiring to establish a Quiet Zone are first required to mitigate the risk by updating crossings to specific standards to ensure safety. Citrus Tree Pests & Disease
|
A tiny insect may go unnoticed on your citrus trees, but it could have devastating consequences for California citrus trees. The Asian citrus psyllid feeds on leaves and stems, and can infect citrus trees with a bacteria that causes a serious plant disease. While not harmful to humans, the disease kills citrus trees and has no cure. For more information, call the California Department of Food and Agriculture hotline at (800) 491-1899 or visit the website.
