A Message from the Mayor
"In good news from State officials, more Oceanside businesses and organizations are reopening their indoor operations, some with capacity restrictions. I joined with other North County Mayors to lobby the state to allow safe reopenings, and I’m pleased to see some movement in these regulations." Find out more about this and resources for the Oceanside community in the latest Message from the Mayor.
COVID-19 Update
The percentage of positive COVID-19 cases among those tested has decreased, and now is at a 14-day rolling average of about 3.7%. The latest County Public Health briefing slides provide a current situation snapshot, and may be viewed here. We want to thank everyone for taking preventative measures to protect yourself and others.
Studies indicate that face coverings are effective at reducing the spread of the virus and -- just like seat belts and motorcycle helmets -- can reduce the death toll. Wear a mask, it's an easy task that works.
More Businesses Reopening Indoors
The the Governor announced a new blueprint for reducing COVID-19 in the state, with revised criteria. The new system uses four tiers. San Diego County is currently in the 2nd red tier, and is now able to reopen indoor operations, some at a reduced capacity. What's able to reopen

Visit Oceanside Celebrates 10 Years
Visit Oceanside received a City proclamation in recognition of their 10 year anniversary on August 19. Visit Oceanside, a destination management organization, was acknowledged for its careful crafting of a unique brand personality for Oceanside and success in bringing new tourism generating events and programs to the City. Despite celebrating this milestone amid a worldwide pandemic that has been devastating to the travel industry, we are proud of the success they have achieved.
