The Ohio River Channel A Periodic Update from the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission
ORSANCO's Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
We're still here for you!
ORSANCO is following all state and federal guidelines during the current pandemic, and we will continue essential functions to keep the Ohio River safe and healthy for the public. This includes water quality monitoring for spills (in coordination with drinking water utilities) as well as emergency response activities to protect the quality of our drinking water supplies. ORSANCO's Organics Detection System (ODS) continues to operate daily to assure that unreported releases or spills of organic compounds do not compromise Ohio River drinking water intakes.
Questions? Our Staff is Ready to Help!
ORSANCO staff is working remotely; however, we are checking our email and voicemails regularly, so please don't hesitate to give us a shout! You can contact individual
staff members via our website, and we will continue to provide important updates on Facebook and Twitter. We continue to provide weekly water quality and river condition information every week. Weekly water quality reports are updated every Friday, and the information is posted on ORSANCO's website.
Keep on Learning with FORE!
The Foundation for Ohio River Education (FORE) is excited to be working with teachers to support distance learning opportunities during this challenging time. FORE staff is compiling and producing on-line educational content focused on the Ohio River watershed, and their website is being updated every day with new material. FORE has also created a new FORE River Learning Channel on YouTube that features some newly produced videos on exploring local creeks and identifying macroinvertebrates.
