Messages From The Mountain | |
Happy 2nd Sunday in Lent. Lent is the season where we earnestly examine the depths of who we are, in hopes that we are transformed into being who God created us to be. Our lenten series is The Old, Old Story. In this series, we are doing a hopscotch through various stories in scripture to discover God’s ultimate, biblical story of creation, redemption, and love. The story last week was the infamous tale of Adam and Eve. Their crossing the boundaries of love birthed a problem we all continue to wrestle with: sin. Sin resulted in creation having a broken relationship with God and each other. Despite the challenges of sin, God still loves us. God’s love is shared with us in a promise made to Abraham to restore all of creation into God’s beloved community. We gather this Sunday to worship a faithful God who is a promise keeper, a way maker, and a miracle worker. Let us open our hearts, minds, and souls to God’s promises to pour out love into each and everyone of us.
This Sunday's scriptures comes from Genesis 22:1-19 & Romans 4:1-5

Lenten Bible Study
All are welcome to join a 6-week Bible Study, led by Rev. Mary Bullis. This Lenten study will meet on Zoom on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm.
We will examine the seven last words that Jesus spoke from the cross, words that show his deepest love for humanity. As we study his words, we will experience the intimate and divine awe that is only available to those of us willing to come near the reality of the cross.
The study will use the book by Rev. Susan Robb, Seven Words: Listening to Christ From the Cross, available on Amazon or Cokesbury. However, you do not need to have to book to attend the class.
