VACCINATION AND LIFESTYLE CHOICES ARE THE BEST DEFENSE FOR COVID19

COVID19.jfif

By Kalpana (Rose) M. Kumar, M.D.

Our world is no longer the same since March of 2020. COVID-19 caused by the Sars-CoV-2 virus, spread at an unprecedented rate through our world as a highly infectious, contagious and dangerous virus.

Since January of 2020, when the earliest recorded cases presented in the US, we have lost 600,000+ lives to this virus. The estimated global death toll is more than 4.12 million (as of July, 2021). Thankfully, mRNA COVID vaccines  have greatly reduced the transmission of nascent Sars-Cov2, offering those who are vaccinated temporary reprieve, a milder case of COVID if infected, a nearly nil probability of hospitalization, and a minuscule risk of death from infection. These vaccines have been lifesaving and are 95% effective in preventing infection with the nascent Sars-CoV-2 virus in ages 16 and above, extremely effective in reducing transmission and nearly 100% effective in preventing death from the nascent Sars-CoV2 virus.

LIFESTYLE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH WITH COVID19

Kalpana (Rose) M. Kumar, M.D.

Our world is no longer the same since March of 2020. COVID-19 caused by the Sars-CoV-2 virus, spread at an unprecedented rate through our world as a highly infectious, contagious and dangerous virus.

We are currently facing a new challenge: The B.1.617.2 variant or mutated form of Sars-CoV-2, first discovered in India, now present in the US.

The simplest solutions for prevention and recovery have always been the best, and healthy lifestyle choices are still the most effective evidence-based solutions that provide ways to boost our immune system as well our chances for recovery and resilience from any infection including COVID.

EVALUATING THE CRANIOSACRAL RHYTHM

Emily Klik

In a previous article, I introduced you to the Craniosacral rhythm (CSR), a subtle physiological rhythm arising from the production and flow of cerebrospinal fluid through the delicate tissue of our brain and spinal cord. While not as obvious as our heartbeat or breath, the CSR can be felt and evaluated just like these other rhythms and used to gain information about a client’s present and past health history. I use this rhythm during every session to gain information about their soft-tissue restrictions, to gauge the depth of release as it is occurring, and to evaluate when a release has been completed.

THE SEVEN ESSENE MIRRORS OF RELATIONSHIPS

Eric Ehrke, LCSW, LMFT

In 150 BCE due to the worldliness of Jerusalem, its temple and Roman rule a Jewish sect, known as the Essenes left their city community moved into the desert. The word Essene literally means doctor and many dedicated souls gathered in the desert near Qumran in protest. Before the Romans destroyed their community in 70 AD, the Essene’s had already preserved their teachings in numerous Qumran caves. The Essenes not only created the Dead Sea Scrolls but also described relationship mirrors, which describe seven important spiritual challenges everyone faces on earth.

THREE-PART BREATH PRACTICE

Shelley Carpenter, PT, RYT, RM

The breath is a gentle and is also a powerful tool to assist in creating balanced function in our bodies, minds and lives.

When in times of prolonged stress, we tend to internally grip and to breathe mainly with the upper chest, using neck, upper chest and upper back muscles to work too hard. Chest breathing is inefficient and tiring. The diaphragm (the main breathing muscle) is contributing, but not very easily in this state. Breath and life energy (prana) feels constricted-because it is.
