Note from Cathy Barker,
President & CEO

Dear Friends,
As spring blossoms across our city, I’m reminded of how much growth and connection we’ve experienced as an agency, and as a community over the past year.
This season feels especially meaningful as we continue celebrating the 75th anniversary of Jewish Family Service and look ahead to our Diamond Anniversary Gala this May.
From marking one year of Primary Medical Care at the JFS Northpoint Health Center, to engaging with so many of you at recent events, we’ve been energized by the warmth and enthusiasm of our community. It’s clear that our mission of providing whole-person care is stronger than ever-- because of your support and involvement.
I hope you’ll stay connected with us in the coming months. Whether you attend an upcoming program, volunteer your time, donate to the Meeting the Moment Campaign, or even share our work with a friend, you help us make a difference.
Warm regards,
Cathy Barker,
President & CEO

The JFS Northpoint Health Center Marks 1 Year of Accessible Healthcare
Since opening its doors in March 2024, the JFS Northpoint Health Center has provided compassionate, accessible care to 301 unique patients through 545 appointments. In its first year, the clinic has boosted its reach by offering additional no-cost health screenings at more than a dozen community events, including health fairs, senior expos, and back-to-school gatherings.
Located just five miles from our Arapaho office, Northpoint is staffed by a dedicated, bilingual front desk team. Patients are served by Primary Care Provider Dr. Heather Esquivel, Nurse Practitioner Stacy Tomberlin, and a Behavioral Health Clinician. Together, they’ve been working to build strong connections with local organizations through clinic tours and outreach.
Northpoint welcomes patients of all ages, races, religions, and backgrounds, and accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. To learn more about the clinic, visit the website below.

Volunteers of All Ages Give Back
on Family Day
| |
JFS hosted our first-ever family volunteering day, bringing together 12 volunteers from the community. Parents and their children worked side by side to assemble craft kits, clean and organize the Food Pantry, and paint flowerpots for older adults receiving Kosher Home-Delivered Meals.
It was inspiring to see volunteers of all ages working together! Thank you to everyone who participated—we can’t wait to see you at the next Family Volunteer Day on Sunday, June 22!
| | | |
On March 6th, JFS welcomed 187 guests to our second annual Open House, continuing our tradition of connecting with the community. Attendees had the chance to meet our team, explore JFS services such as the Northpoint Health Center, Career and Financial Services, Kosher Home Delivered Meals, and more. Program representatives shared insights into the essential work happening every day. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and look forward to welcoming even more community members next year.
|
Over 40 leaders from 25 Jewish organizations gathered at the future JFS Karla and Larry Steinberg Building for a pre-renovation tour and a vital discussion on expanding access to JFS’s physical, emotional, nutritional, and financial health resources.
Attendees-- including rabbis, school administrators, and community leaders-- received updated resource lists and explored ways to better support those in need. Key topics included primary medical care at the JFS Northpoint Health Center, volunteer opportunities, and financial grants through The Priya Reproductive Fund.
Thank you to all who participated in this meaningful conversation! We look forward to continuing these important discussions next year.

Continuing a JFS Tradition:
Passover Package Deliveries
| This Passover, a group of 54 volunteers took part in a JFS holiday tradition by packing and delivering 715 holiday packages to clients and community members. Each package included matzah, grape juice, gefilte fish, macaroons, and a new addition—a digital Haggadah to enhance the celebration. Thank you to all who helped make it possible! | | | |
Over 6,500 Feminine Hygiene Items Collected During March Drive
March is National Women’s Month, and in honor of women everywhere, our community came together to host a month-long feminine hygiene drive, and the response was incredible.
Thanks to your generosity, we collected more than 6,500 feminine hygiene products and raised over $1,750 to purchase even more. These essential items will be distributed at no cost through the JFS Food Pantry, which serves approximately 90 families each day.
We’re so grateful to everyone who helped meet this critical need and showed support for women in our community.

The First Annual Community Impact Celebration is Coming Up this Summer!
We are proud to announce a new community event this summer! On Thursday, June 12th, the Community Impact Celebration will be a special opportunity for our entire JFS family: staff, volunteers, partner organizations, board members, and everyone connected to our mission, to come together and celebrate the impact we’ve made on the community-- and the impact the community has made on us.
This event will be similar to the Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation, where leadership from JFS and the JFS Foundation will share agency updates and exciting news. We’ll also welcome our newly appointed board members to their roles, and recognize many of our dedicated volunteers with special awards.
And of course, no celebration would be complete without delicious hors d'oeuvres and desserts!
