“The way a team plays as a whole determines its success.
You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime.”
Babe Ruth

Dear Southern Door Community,
The above quote is fitting for this coming week in a number of ways. Just as we have reason to celebrate the efforts of all of our fall teams with their going to the playoffs or sectionals, the success of our community’s Haunted Mansion effort, or the excitement about our upcoming musical, we realize that talent and coaching are important, but most of all it is the teamwork which brings about success for both the team and its individuals. Of course, the most important team we have here at Southern Door is that of parents, staff, and community together working in partnership for our students’ success.
Last Friday our activities director, Korey Mallien, captured on video our choir singing a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that immediately went viral on Facebook. I received the following comment from a vendor in Minnesota:
"I got to listen to your incredible singers last night at the football game. I played it as I sat next to my husband, and he couldn’t believe it was a group of high school students. He thought it was a professional group!!!"
This kind of teamwork, and so many more great things we see our students accomplish in our classrooms and in our activities every day, are great evidence of why Together We Are Eagle Strong!

asks voter permission to exceed the revenue limit one time by $450,000 for just ONE year to maintain educational opportunities and services for students by keeping current class sizes and course offerings. If the question is not approved, SD would be frozen for three more years, meaning that there would be a significant impact on education in our district.
