City Council Message

from Councilmember David Spencer

I just wrapped up my 11th year on the City Council and this year may have been a record for getting good things done for Orem.  It’s been an incredible year for our city, and I’m excited to share a few highlights.

Our Christmas lights display was bigger and brighter than ever, with 550,000 lights bringing holiday cheer to our community. It’s been wonderful seeing families and friends gather to enjoy the magic of the season. You can enjoy the lights all the way through Valentine's Day.

We also launched myHometown, a program that’s already making a difference in the Geneva Heights neighborhood by connecting residents with resources and opportunities. It’s helping build pride and unity in our city, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

This year, we broke ground on a new fire training facility to ensure our first responders are fully equipped and trained to save lives. This is a major step in keeping our community safe.

Finally, Lakeside Sports Park brought in 50,000 visitors from out of town, boosting our local businesses and putting our city on the map. We’re excited to build on this success in the years ahead.

Thank you for your support and commitment to making our city an amazing place to live. Let’s keep this momentum going in 2025!

Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year!

Councilmember David Spencer
