City Council Message

from Council Member Jenn Gale

Big things are happening as we move forward with our sister cities to form our new school district, and we want to keep you informed every step of the way! Here are the latest updates.

School Board Representation Maps – Final Decision Coming Soon

The South Area Redistricting Committee has been working hard to finalize a proposed school board representation map. After weeks of discussion, public input, and careful planning, the committee submitted its proposal to the Utah County Commissioners. The County is now reviewing the map and will make a final decision on March 26. View the draft map and submit feedback HERE before then.

Want to Serve on the District’s First-Ever School Board? Here’s How to Run

If you’re passionate about education and leadership, consider running for a school board seat! The candidate filing period is June 2-9 at the Utah County Clerk’s office. If a primary election is needed, it will be held on August 12, with the general election on November 4. Elected board members will begin their terms after the election is canvassed in November 2025.

Explore the New District and Transition Process Online

While many significant decisions—such as school boundaries, policies, and leadership staff—will be made by the newly elected school board, we are doing everything we can within state guidelines to lay the groundwork for a smooth transition. To stay informed about the process, visit the new school district’s temporary website HERE, where you’ll find updates, FAQs, key dates, and background on how we got here.

Thank You for Your Involvement!

We appreciate everyone who helped shape the representation map draft by sharing valuable feedback! Your voice is shaping the future of our schools, and your continued involvement will help build a strong foundation for students, teachers, and families.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Thank you for being part of this important journey!
