Dear HPN,
It’s MARCH and we are ready for the biggest event of the year: The Oscars!
This Sunday at 4:00 pm PDT, the 96th Annual Academy Awards airs on ABC. If you don't usually watch The Oscars on TV, would you watch this year and pray for everyone who comes to the mic, to give an award or to accept an award! If we could have Christians all over the world praying for the people involved in this show, asking our God to transform their lives with His unconditional love, we could change the world! As this final Awards ceremony for the 2024 Awards season, our prayers make a difference in the lives of influencers and audiences around the world. Therefore, we’re excited to see how HPN members can impact our nation's entertainers!

The Christian Youth Film Festival Impacts Young Filmmakers
We thank God for a miraculous and wonderful weekend in Bakersfield at the Christian Youth Film Festival! The longest-running festival of its kind, the CYFF encourages young people ages 12-24 to create excellent movies integrating their Christian faith. HPN Bakersfield Local Chapter Director Joe Brown invited industry professionals to pour into these young filmmakers and encourage up-and-coming creatives to pursue their dreams in Hollywood. Karen and Jim, among others, told these talented High School and College filmmakers to shine for Jesus in the world's most influential mission field. Great work Joe!

Dan Lin leads Netflix in one of the Industry's Most Influential Positions
We are celebrating our friend, HPN member, and incredible Hollywood professional, Dan Lin, who has just been chosen as Chairman of Netflix Film division. Dan is a man of integrity and creativity and it is an answer to prayer to watch the Lord place His children, like Dan, in positions of global influence in our industry. Let’s pray for Dan to have favor, wisdom, insight, creativity, and divine opportunities as he leads Netflix Films.

Behind Her Faith - Essence Atkins
We praise God for actress Essence Atkins, who gets bold about her faith in a recent interview. Essence shares the moment that she understood that a relationship with Jesus is personal, and the nearness that she experienced of His presence. Essence's testimony is powerful, and we continue to pray for Essence and those who are shining for Christ while using their creative gifts in the entertainment industry.

Pray for the Sinise Family
Please pray for actor Gary Sinise and his wife Moira as they grieve the loss of their son, McCanna Anthony Sinise, who died in January at the age of 33 of a rare cancer, Chordoma. Mac lost his 5 1/2 year battle early this year and Gary & Moira just posted the news publicly last week. They finally decided to announce their son’s death in the news in order to help other families who are going through the same thing. The Sinises are committed Catholics, and they give back in so many ways to our industry and other causes. We want to pray that God comforts them and gives them strength and peace in their grief.

Michael Swanson Shines at NBC
Please pray for Emmy Award winner, Michael Swanson, Sr. V.P. of NBCU, who loves Jesus and is bold about his faith. He and his wife also own a faith-based production company, Faith Filmworks. As Sr. Vice President of Production at NBCUniversal, Michael has daily impactful decisions to make, so we want to celebrate him as a solid believer and professional, but also pray for him to have wisdom, strength and discernment. We also pray that more and more people who are decision-makers in entertainment, like Michael, live their lives as shining Ambassadors of Christ or come to know the unconditional love of Jesus.

Joe Rogan Talks About Jesus on the #1 Podcast in the Country
Let’s pray for Joe Rogan, who talks about religion, faith and Jesus when Aaron Rodgers visited his podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience." Discussing everything from aliens, to demons, to the return of Christ, the controversial episode comes to a point where Joe says "We need Jesus," and then jokes that right now seems to be a good time for Jesus to "come back and fix everything." Let's be praying for Joe! Clearly, his heart is becoming more open to the Lord, and so we pray for his salvation, and for the world to witness a heartfelt transformation!

iPhone Film Festival
Entry deadline: April 1, 2024
Films due by April 15
Participation is open to anyone to submit a short film or video (5-15 minutes) shot on phones around the theme of “Wonder”. Films can be any genre (documentary, comedy, drama, spoken word, music videos, TED talks, etc.), and film/video makers of all skill levels are encouraged to submit their work.
Films will need to be submitted via a downloadable online link by Monday, April 15th, 5 PM (PST). There is no entry fee and all faith backgrounds are welcome! To enter, or for more info or questions, email David Cobia at David@ReimagineChurch.Church with the subject line “iPhone Film Festival”.
