Forestry for Minnesota Birds Conservation Guidebook


Forestry for Minnesota Birds (FMNB) uses the best available science on avian ecology and sustainable forest management to provide strategies for creating bird habitat in contemporary forests. By collaborating with land managers, landowners, and forest stewards, the program aims to improve bird habitat and support bird populations through sustainable forest management practices. The lead author is Christian Nelson, Forest Stewards Guild. Denali Borough Community & Outdoor Recreation Plan


The Denali Borough contracted Dovetail Partners during the final stages of crafting its Community & Outdoor Recreation Plan. Dovetail’s technical assistance focused on draft plan development, public engagement processes, and data aggregation. Dovetail’s Project Director, Teresa Floberg, previously served as the Denali Borough's Community Development Director and worked with the Community & Outdoor Recreation Committee from its inception.

2025 North American Biochar Conference


Join Dovetail for the 2025 North American Biochar Conference (NABC25), the premier event shaping the future of biochar. The conference will run from September 15-18, 2025 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Hosted by the U.S. Biochar Initiative (USBI), this conference brings together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and investors to accelerate market adoption, scale production, and expand biochar applications across industries. Dovetail Associate Harry Groot has been working on the organizing committee for the conference.

Advancing Women’s Leadership in Forestry and Fire Management

– A Tribal Perspective


At the 47th Annual National Timber Symposium in 2024, an inaugural Native Women & Allies in Forestry Luncheon occurred creating a space for Native women within the sector to engage in discussions and connect with each other. In 2025, the Canopy & Ember: Indigenous Women in Forestry and Wildland Fire planning team, in coordination with the Women’s Forest Congress, will build upon the strong interest and need for supporting women in the field of tribal forestry. All are welcome to join this 2-hour virtual workshop, which will include panel discussions and offer space for professional connection, mentorship, and reflection. Register here.
