The Newsletter of the Public Interest Law Initiative
Happy Pro Bono Week!
PILI is planning and participating in several activities across the state this week for National Celebrate Pro Bono Week. Coordinated by the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, Pro Bono Week is intended to inspire even greater pro bono participation by lawyers throughout the nation.
You can find out details about PILI's events in the below newsletter, as well as a guest post about pro bono by a member of one of our Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committees. We also share some exciting details about our 40th Anniversary Awards Gala on November 30th, and tickets are now on sale.
As always, feel free to stay in touch through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. We hope you take advantage of the events going on this week, volunteer your time and celebrate pro bono with us.
This month, Scott Vogelmeier shares an article titled,
"I Don't Have Time for Pro Bono!" Scott is a Senior Compliance Analyst at State Farm Bank in Bloomington and a member of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee.
In early 2017, the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Access to Justice, in partnership with the Chicago Bar Foundation, the Illinois Bar Foundation, and the Public Interest Law Initiative, released a statewide survey to hear directly from attorneys about their experiences with pro bono.
