Dear Serra Alumni,
It's Homecoming Week at Serra, featuring our Homecoming BBQ and football game on Friday night and our Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner on Saturday. Both events will be held on campus.
In the event of rain on Friday, our gym will be set up with food and drinks, and a live broadcast of the football game will be shown on two screens.
Food and entrance to the game against St. Ignatius are both free for alumni. There are still a few tickets available for the Hall of Fame Dinner, honoring five of our alumni. I hope to see you on campus!

Garrett Chaussard (Golf) - Garrett is a 2001 graduate
of Serra who won three WCAL golf titles and two CCS championships in high school. He is a graduate
of the University
of Illinois and finished his career there with third-lowest scoring record in school history. Garrett currently is the Director
of Instruction at Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, IL.
Mike Langridge (Football and Basketball) - Mike is a 1991 graduate
of Serra. He was selected as a captain for Arizona State's football team and played defensive end. His 1990 Serra football team won a CCS championship. Mike has coached football at Serra, Riordan and the College
of San Mateo. He currently serves as Serra's freshman offensive coordinator and varsity golf coach.
Chuck Lofgren (Baseball) - Chuck is a 2004 graduate
of Serra. He was selected in the fourth round
of the 2004 MLB Draft. Chuck played in the minor league organizations
of the Indians and Giants for seven years. He is Serra's career strikeout leader as a pitcher and ranks number two in runs scored as a hitter.
Angelo Fobbs-Valentino (Football, Basketball, Track)
- Angelo is a 2004 graduate of Serra. He broke school records in the 200 and 400-meter track events and was the WCAL Football MVP his senior year at Serra. Angelo played safety for four years at Arizona State University.
Will Powers (Football and Basketball) - Will is a 2005 graduate of Serra. He played linebacker for Stanford University from 2005 to 2010. Will was named the CCS Player
of the Year his senior year at Serra by
The Mercury News and the Far West Defensive Player
of the Year by SuperPrep. He was named a Pac-10 All-Academic player while at Stanford.
Serra's Homecoming BBQ and football game will be held this Friday night at Serra (rain or shine). The BBQ will start at 5:30 p.m. on the baseball field and kickoff will be at 7:00 p.m. against St. Ignatius. Both events are free for alumni.

Serra's fall alumni games will be held Thanksgiving week. Alumni basketball will tip off on November 23 at 7 p.m, with the annual wrestling poker party shuffling up at 5:30 on the same day. Water polo will be held on Thanksgiving morning at 10 a.m. and soccer will kickoff on Friday, the 25th, at 12:30 p.m.
|Robotics Wins CalGames 2016
Serra's Tri-School robotics team won first place at CalGames 2016 over the weekend at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale! A huge victory for our team, competing against 30 high schools. Congratulations to everyone involved.
Fund a Dream 2017 will be held on Saturday, February 25. This year's theme will be a celebration of arts and entertainment, and our keynote speaker will be Michael Collopy '76.
One of Michael's photographs was chosen as the basis for the Catholic Church's official portrait of Saint Teresa of Calcutta. He is a world-
photographer, with The Huffington Post calling Michael "one of the preeminent portrait photographers of our time." He has photographed Pope John Paul ll, the Dalai Lama, five U.S. Presidents, Paul McCartney and Frank Sinatra, among many others.
Join our Lombard Street Raffle, part of our 2016 City by the Bay Fall Event! All proceeds go toward a new gym floor.
Morton Family Gym is used for Serra basketball, volleyball, physical education, rallies, masses, evening events, Mercy HS volleyball, and summer programs, among many other activities. A new floor will benefit all of these programs. Please contact Theresa Stoye or Robin Jensen in the Advancement Office if you would like to participate. Thank you for your support!
