COVENANT SUNDAY CELEBRATION
Please join us for a community celebration this Sunday.  We will worship together in a combined service at 10 AM, during which we will offer up our 2019 pledges by placing them on the altar together as a church family.  After the service, head out to the church courtyard for a delicious cookout and fellowship. Can you bring a dessert? Bring a friend or neighbor to share in our community fun! We look forward to seeing you there!

AXIOM STRING QUARTET CONCERT SERIES
SATURDAY NIGHT: BLACK, DEATH, AND METAL
The Axiom String Quartet kicks off their season, High Contrast, here at Palmer this Saturday at 7:30 PM in the Nave. This is the first of five concerts that the quartet will perform through May at both Palmer and the University of St. Thomas. It will be a high energy season that combines classical masterpieces with entirely contrasting musical genres to bring you an unforgettable concert experience. Visit axiomquartet.com for a schedule of events or to purchase tickets. Season tickets are available as well!

HARRIED? STRESSED? ANXIOUS?
Join us for 20 minutes of silent meditation Mondays at 5 PM and Wednesdays at 1 PM in St. Bede's Chapel. We begin with a short reading from the World Community for Christian Meditation and finish with an even shorter poem or prayer. Any questions? Contact the Rev. Liz Parker at lparker@palmerchurch.org.

Upcoming Palmer Events
SAFEGUARDING GOD'S PEOPLE CLASS
Palmer will hold a Safeguarding God's People class on November 3 from 9 AM to noon. Are you a ministry leader at Palmer? Are you a Eucharistic visitor or Stephen Minister? If so, or if requested by your ministry leader or clergy, you need to take a Safeguarding class!  There is a new online recertification option for those who are currently certified and up for renewal. Please contact  safeguarding@palmerchurch.org  to start your certification or learn more about the recertification process.

ALL SAINTS' REQUIEM
Beginning in 1997, the Roy Jones Memorial Requiem Mass sung within the Eucharist has become an annual tradition at Palmer every November.  This year we will celebrate the All Saints' Requiem on Sunday, November 4 at the 11 AM Eucharist.  The musical setting chosen are the Burial Sentences by William Croft and two movements by music by Healy Willan and Henry Purcell.

As a part of the tradition of the All Saints' Requiem, you are invited to list the names of departed loved ones in the day's order of service.  If you would like to include someone on this list, please send an email to Vickie Harshbarger at vharshbarger1948@yahoo.com. October 31 is the last day to submit a name.  Be sure to give the complete spelling of the person you wish to list and also include your phone number in case we have questions.

CHRISTMAS AND ANGEL TREE ARE COMING!
Christmas and Angel Tree are fast approaching! This ministry provides Christmas gifts to children whose parents are incarcerated. If you would like to help with this ministry, such as making gift tags or delivering gifts, please contact Jennifer Vaughan ( jenclark99@yahoo.com).  This year we will serve even more children than last year and will need plenty of delivery volunteers.  If you anticipate delivering gifts, you must have Safeguarding training. To be trained, update your training, or check on the status of your training at  safeguarding@palmerchurch.org.

ALTAR FLOWER DONATIONS
flower-bunch.jpg The floral arrangements in our glorious worship spaces are funded through the generous donations of our parish family and Palmer guests. You can enhance the beauty of Palmer by contributing $100 for Sunday flowers on the altars in the Nave, St. Bede's Chapel, or the Columbarium. To reserve a date for your Sunday flowers, please use the sign-up book in the Church office or on the website. Be sure to notate "In Honor of" or "In Memoriam" for a family member or friend, or to celebrate a special day or anniversary. Your dedication will appear in the Orders of Worship on your reserved Sunday.

PLEASE SEND US YOUR NEWS FOR PALMER PUBLICATIONS
The deadline for all submissions to The Palmer Email Newsletter, Sunday Announcements, and website is every Friday at 5 PM. Publication requests will appear the following week.
