Have you got Christmas 4 Kids! on your calendar for Saturday, December 4?

December is fast approaching! Do you think you may need some ‘kids free’ time to accomplish some ‘secret’ December shopping? Or wrap some presents away from little, wondering eyes? Or will you be ready for a little quiet time for some baking or decorating? Or simply a little quiet? This December your Faith family would once again love to give you a hand!

We’d be happy to keep your kids busy for a few hours on Saturday morning, December 4, during our annual Christmas 4 Kids activity time for children currently three years old through those enrolled in fourth grade. Please let your friends and neighbors know about this FREE opportunity as well.

You can register in advance on-line, at church or in the office of our school campus. Same day registration on December 4 begins at 8:30 AM, but if you’ve pre-registered ahead of time you can drop the kids off just a little bit before 9:00 AM. We’ll keep them busy with crafts, music, story time, skits and games until you return to pick them up at 11:45 PM. At 11:45 PM there will be a 15 minute devotion/program in which the children will present a sample of what they learned about Jesus and the events of the first Christmas.

Or would you like to volunteer? Most years we have needed 40+ volunteers for prep, set up, the day of and clean up after. Our volunteers always tell us what a good time they had with the kids. Could you lend a hand? Check out the display by the member mailboxes that lay out the many volunteer opportunities.

Sounds fun, doesn’t it? For you and for the kids? See you there!
Over 500 years ago, the Christian church was corrupted by many false teachings. A man named Martin Luther led people back to the teachings of the Bible. Through Luther God restored the church to purity of doctrine and a new life of faith in Christ. The Bible and Lutherans teach that God judged all sinners righteous in his sight when Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. God declared everyone free from the guilt and punishment owed for our sins. The sinner receives this free gift of forgiveness, not by doing good deeds, but only by faith. A person is justified when he or she believes in Christ and his redemptive work. It is a gift from God. Come, learn, and be refreshed by studying a major doctrine of the Lutheran church - justification.

In addition, since this Bible study is based on the People's Bible Teaching Series book called Justification, we will also have those books available for purchase. They will cost $14 and can be paid for by cash or check.
Pastor Hermanson will guide us as we look at what makes The Ideal Congregation. We will look at how focused we are on God's Word and the Sacraments. We will ask: How ideal are we? How could we improve?

Why Faith Church and School? Noah transferred from St. John Libertyville for 6th grade. It was important for us to be connected to a WELS school that had a strong faith-based curriculum, dedicated teachers, and a reputation that matched St. John. Not to mention, a circle of friends that he could grow with. Having extra-curricular sports programs helped too. As we learned with our older son, a Christian education is incredibly valuable beyond 8th grade. We have been welcomed with open arms and are so blessed to be a part of the Faith family.

What’s the best advice you ever received? My mother told me to…Have fun with everything you do. Fun feels good, fun makes you happy. Whether things are good or bad, find a way to have fun and smile.

What are your interests/hobbies? Watching sports (all Wisconsin teams), Playing sand volleyball, DJ (mixing music), Golf, Thrifting, and eBay.

Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 3:17 “…This is my son whom I love, with him I am well pleased”
~ for peace, comfort, strength, and healing for James Frank who is now recovering at home.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of my life, for my heart that still beats, for my lungs that still breathe, and for the unknown accidents you keep me from each day. These are all daily gifts from your hand that I all too often take for granted. Forgive me for not caring for my body the way I ought. Thank you especially for daily preserving my spiritual life in Christ by your Holy Spirit. Help me to live to your glory and honor you with my body in thanks to you for preserving my life--physical and spiritual--each day. Amen
