FROM THE SCHULMEISTER'S

Prayer Request and Act of Kindness

On Monday, January 1, 2024 Abigail Flister (former member, Gail Flister’s daughter) went to Urgent care with what the doctors thought was either a muscle spasm or pinched nerve. Either way- they prescribed pain medication and told her to seek additional treatment if the pain did not subside. By Friday, the pain was so bad, Abigail took herself to the ER. After being admitted, she found out her leg had several arterial blood clots. Unfortunately, after two attempted surgeries to implant a stent, the doctors told her they would need to amputate her leg above the knee. The surgery on January 11th for amputation went beautifully. She was moved to rehab facility on January 19th, for therapy and learning how to adjust and function with her “new” body.

I am asking for everyone to shower Abigail and her family with prayers and cards. Abby’s 45th birthday is in February, and I am collecting birthday and encouragement cards for her to her. If anyone might be interested in participating in this prayer and card shower, cards can be placed in Randall & Charlene Schulmeister’s church mailbox or mailed to:

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT BIBLE CLASS AT 8:15 AM

CHURCH - MISSION - MINISTRY

Those who have been called to faith share in the ministry of the Church to which they have been called. But what is the Church? And how does it carry out its mission through the ministry of individuals and congregations?

Church - Mission - Ministry is a study of God's assignment for the Church. This Bible study examines the nature of the Church, its people, and its practices, as outlined in the Scriptures. Through this study, you'll gain a better understanding of the role of churches and their members in completing God's will.

Books for this study are now available at class and can be purchased for the discounted rate of $15 (would be $20+ including tax and shipping if you ordered it directly from NPH). Cash or check made payable to Faith Lutheran Church.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY THURSDAYS at 9 AM

~ for Pastor Ben Sadler, his family and the congregation at Victory of the Lamb as has deliberates the two calls he now has before him.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

Dear Savior, how lowly you appear as you ascend the Mount of Transfiguration. As you go up with Peter, James, and John, you seem to be nothing more than an average human being. But, together with your disciples, today we see more than I expect. I see your face shining like the sun and your clothes "white as the light" (Matthew 17:2). You are the glorious Son of God. As i see you talking about your impending death in Jerusalem, I find comfort in knowing that God has come to earth and become a man in order to save me. Amen.
