FLOWER DEDICATION
In celebration of and gratitude for our mothers. May you have a truly blessed and beautiful Mother's Day!
Invested . . . in Christ!  Special Offering Request for May 14 & 15
In the next couple of days, you will be receiving a special offering request regarding our congregation’s current financial challenges. One of the themes of the letter asks you to consider all the ways that God has blessed Faith and to make a special gift in thanksgiving for those blessings. In considering how blessed we are at Faith, I think of some of the comments I heard two weeks ago from visitors at the Youth Confirmation service:

“You have such a beautiful church. God has so blessed your congregation!”

“Your pastor delivered a wonderful sermon. Your congregation is so blessed to have a pastor that can deliver the Word of God so eloquently.”

“It is incredible that your congregation had 15 youth confirmands. Our congregation hasn’t had that many over the last 20 years combined. Your congregation at Faith is so blessed!”

Those comments reminded me of other churches I have attended that were not blessed in the same ways that God has blessed Faith. Over the years, I have belonged to a church that did not have a school. I was a member at another church that had a school but not a gymnasium. I attended another church that had a gymnasium but not a parking lot. I have visited churches without a pastor and other churches where you couldn’t understand what was being said. Thanks be to God that at Faith we have been blessed with articulate pastors and a wonderful Christian day school that has its own gymnasium. I am also grateful that I have never had difficulty finding a parking spot here.
Thinking of all these blessings, we must wonder why God has blessed us so. The answer is that because He loves us (John 3:16), and that he wants us to share those blessings with others (Matthew 28:19). Please make a special offering next week as outlined in the mailing in thanksgiving for those blessings to help ensure that future generations at Faith enjoy the same blessings we are experiencing now.

In Christ,
Stewardship Deacon, Shawn Wietbrock

MLC Wind Symphony at St. John's in Burlington - May 15
MLC Wind Symphony: On Sunday, May 15, St. John’s will host the Martin Luther College Wind Symphony. This ensemble of about 50 musicians will present their spring concert, “On the Road Again,” at 7pm in our St. John’s gymnasium. Everyone is invited to attend this special concert! Our congregation will also provide overnight lodging for the entire ensemble, so we need many volunteers to host pairs or double pairs of students and to bring them back to church on Monday morning. Please contact Susan Musgrave (262-210-2957; singingsue@gmail.com) if you are willing to host students. You can find a letter on the narthex tables detailing the responsibilities for host families. We look forward to welcoming the MLC Wind Symphony to St. John’s!

MLC Host Family Responsibilities: Thank you for considering hosting a pair or more of MLC Wind Symphony members on May 15-16. On Sunday evening after the concert we will gather in the St John’s gym around 8:45pm. There you will meet the students that are assigned to you. We ask you to provide: transportation to/from your home; sleeping arrangements for the pair(s) of students (although having individual beds is optimal, the students are fine with sharing beds, sleeping on couches, air mattresses, etc.); breakfast on Monday morning; and a sack lunch for Monday travels. You will return students to church by 7am. For questions, please call Susan Musgrave (262-210-2957; singingsue@gmail.com).

Martin Luther College Meet Math 2022
Congratulations to Faith’s 7th & 8th grade class on their second place finish in Meet Math, Division 4!

Meet Math is an annual math competition created by select students of Martin Luther College, our teacher training school in New Ulm, Minnesota, for WELS grade school students around the country. This math competition takes place throughout the year, with four sets of questions. Each set includes 6 mind-tickling word problems, done in a time limit of 25 minutes. Schools and students compete to get the most questions correct. Schools are split into divisions, based on how many students attend the school. Faith achieved second place in our division, earning the school a plaque.
PLEASE NOTE: IF your child is a current student enrolled at Faith and you desire to re-enroll, please contact the office for more information on the re-enrollment process. You can reach the office at 847-395-1660 or office@faithantioch.org. Online Application Process is ONLY for NEW students to Faith Lutheran School. Thank you.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

Dear life-giving Holy Spirit, I am eternally grateful for the amazing miracle you have worked in my heart through your powerful gospel. Forgive me for the times I've taken this gift for granted or have treated it as a small thing. By the ongoing comfort of pardon from all sin through the merit of Jesus, continue to strengthen this faith you have given until faith becomes sight in heaven. In Jesus' name. Amen
TRUTH

We are currently streaming our regular 8 AM Sunday morning worship service over our radio station WFEL 99.9 FM and through our Faith website. Being able to count attendees worshipping over the air-waves is impossible for man but not for our gracious, Heavenly Father. It is to him we give our praise.

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”  John 4:23
