SUCCESS Convening: Last Call for State of Play Survey Responses

With now over 300 registrants, we are looking forward to seeing many of you soon for SUCCESS 2024. We will be hosting a reception for our Partner Colleges on Thursday, March 28. More details to come!

Action Needed: We urge you to take 10 minutes to complete the SUCCESS 2024 State of Play Survey by this Friday, March 15th. Thank you to those who have already participated.

Why is this survey important?

Your participation drives the Opening Session for the Convening. It helps us understand the national landscape of post-graduation pathways with robust, data-driven conversations. In our inaugural 2022 Convening, over 120 individuals (67%) participated in the Survey. With a much larger audience this year, we want to increase participation.

Webinar on 3/15: Better FAFSA for Mixed Status Families: Updates from the Department of Education

Our sister organization, the Presidents' Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration is hosting a webinar to share information on the latest updates from the Department of Education on the status of the Better FAFSA for mixed-status families, along with recommendations and resources for institutions and practitioners looking to advise students with non-SSN contributors.

Friday, March 15th

10:30 am PT/ 12:30 pm/ 1:30 pm ET

Register Here

Please note:

This information DOES NOT pertain to TheDream.US Scholars, as our students are NOT eligible and SHOULD NOT fill out the FAFSA. We wanted to share this because we know that many of you work with a broader immigrant student population and mixed status families.

Background: The Department of Education released an updated version of the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) in late December, 2023. Since the application’s release, contributors without a Social Security Number (SSN) have faced a number of challenges setting up required FSA IDs and submitting their portion of the application.

The Department of Education has been working actively to resolve these issues and provide families with timely updates on their progress. The Department has indicated that they plan to announce a permanent resolution in mid-March.
