Scholarship Guidelines

National Scholars are allowed two Breaks in Enrollment

National Scholars* can take off up to two terms (or three if there are on the quarter system). Their time off will be included in the maximum time they have to use our award. They must follow these steps:

Complete TheDream.US Request Form in their ISTS Portal (Program Guide, page 15)
Notify their Scholar Advisor by email and explain the reason for the break in enrollment and the date they will return;
Upon their return, meet with their Scholar Advisor to develop a plan for completing their degree on time (3 years if an associate degree; 6 years if a bachelor’s degree).

*Opportunity Scholars cannot request Breaks in Enrollment. If there are extenuating circumstances, the Scholar Advisor may reach out to Ireri Rivas.
